we all seem to get the negative comments from people, but has anyone got any really sweet comments for being pregnant with twins? a friend of mine told my mom that if anyone should have twins, it's me, and that i'll be so great. ^_^ that made me feel really good! and, after having a girl at work tell me how much HARD WORK it was going to be for me (she has NO kids, btw), a nurse piped in and said, "well, i think you should enjoy this! it's so rare, and so great!"
i really appreciate the positive comments, as rare as they can be in this day and age!

    share your positive comments!

I hadn't seen the guys my DH works with since I started showing. We stopped by there after my last OB appt. One of his friends said, "Look at you, those little legs with a big belly on top. You are just too cute, no really!" I know it might have got to someone, the 'big belly' comment. But he was sincerely trying to pay a compliment. :pardon:

Yeah! Thanks for starting a thread about the nice things people say! Of course, I get plenty of the dumb comments too, but lately I've been trying to hang on to the good ones and let the bad ones go. So here goes....

    1) A female co-worker just walked into my office and told me that all the girls said I looked beautiful pregnant and that my (new!) red dress looking great on me!!!!! Yeah! I feel like a million bucks!

    2) On Mother's Day my good friend's sister saw me at church and said I was the prettiest pregnant girl she'd ever seen!

    3) An older lady at church said that DH and I would be great with twins b/c we had so much energy and enjoyed our children so much!

Hurray for people who say nice things!

I think I'm letting the dumb comments roll off my back these days because I just feel good!

    Thanks,
    Jen

I was sharing a bit of my anxieties about my twin pregnancy at another forum I journal at and one of the responses I got was so sweet. She said that God only chooses very special people to be parents and siblings of multiples and that he will never give you more than he thinks you can handle. That comment made my anxieties disappear!

in the midst of all the rude comments, i have gotten some really nice ones. close friends and people who know me well have said that if anyone can do it, i can. (that's a really flattering one) i have gotten the, "you're so lucky and blessed!" and the "you look so small for carrying twins."
i am going to try and focus more on those comments...

I think the one I got the most from people that made me feel good was that from behind i didnt look pregnant, That all the weight I was gaining must be just belly cause I didnt look big any where else..Even though I felt huge..They must of been right cause when I came home from the hospital I had already lost 45lbs..I was amazed..By week 6 I was 10lbs away from being at my prepregnancy weight..

A family friend who is the mother of 33-year-old twin girls wrote me the sweetest note... she helped to confirm my enthusiasm. After all, she's been there, done that, and her joy and enthusiasm is so uplifting. Everyone (who doesn't have twins, ironically!) has been such a downer about "twins" and I am just beyond excited. I feel nothing but honored and blessed.

    Here is what she said:

You look amazing!! What a busy, wonderful life you are going to lead with these twin angels...Sons....so wonderful....and twins!!!
    I know the feeling!

I never changed a diaper until I had twins...and it really wasn't a 'chore' at all. It was a blessing...the whole way, and now my girls are 33 yr old and still a blessing...What you do for one, you just move over a couple of more inches and do for the other...it really is that simple...the hard time comes when they both get ill...then it's an understandable loss of sleep...but worth every minute lost...

What a sweet note! That must have felt wonderful. I do feel like it is such a blessing; and one not many will ever experience. I'm resolved to enjoy every moment, as the twins may be my last babies.

twinsboys...you're so blessed to have such a supporter!!!

I remember one old woman who approached us in a store. I try my hardest to be very patient and forgiving of the elderly, as I hope that young mothers will be when I am inevitably old and nosey!

I braced myself for all the typical old lady conversational possibilities. She cooed at my boys but kept her distance, then she turned and looked me dead in the eye and touched my shoulder and said, "Oh my, what a blessing!" and went about her business!

I don't know if it was her positive comment or her genuine respect for us, but I was really touched.

so this is kind of a weird one but it made me feel good.

this was about a month ago. some of the newer guys in my husbands shop didn't know I was pregnant let alone with twins. Well I took him lunch one night and I got out of the car and they were like dude, Mike your wife is hott! He was like yeah she is and shes even 24 weeks pregnant with twins. They were like NO WAY! You're so lucky!

    HA

I thought it was cute and it made me feel better about myself. At that point I didn't look pregnant, I just thought it looked fat.

Oh I know.... I haven't seen one of those in sooooo long! That is great!

I have been told that I look good for having twins. DH keeps telling me I have a glow :p

I love it when people tell me how much fun twins are instead of how horrid it is going to be. It feels good to know that I will be a mom to multiples :D

this made me cry! i love it!
you know, i told my mom the other day that it's like we're in this special, elite club that only certain women were chosen to be in (by God). and maybe others are just jealous and it comes out in a negetive way. because WE all seem to be exstatic to be having twins! we all can't wait for the "challenge" of it all... and double the hugs and double the kisses.... i really just can't wait! even my mom feels she's in this like "elite grandma for twins group" haha!

The other night DH told me that I am beautiful pregnant and he enjoys watching me sleep because I look like an angel.

One day after my u/s appts. DH said to me that I didn't need an u/s because "if the doctor would just have looked at that beautiful belly she would know everything is ok"...he is so sweet!

One of DH's employee's told him how he is so luck to have twins. Then when he found out it was b/g twins he told him how we are truly blessed for God to give us an instant family.

people I work with used to tell me how much I glowed when I was pregnant...that always made me feel good when my hips and back ached!

I am normally fairly thin when I am not pregnant. However, the other day my husband said " I like it when your face is a little fuller!" It made me feel good about the weight I had/have put on with this pregnancy. Kiesha

I found out I was having twins at 16 weeks. I was scared to death and spent alot of time crying. I wasn't very accepting in the first few days. My mom called me out of the blue one day and said "Honey, you can do this. Don't worry about money, time or energy. Aidan (my two year old) will be fine. You were chosen to have twins. God chose you. If God knows you can handle this, then you should find peace in that." I immediately felt better and I do know that I was chosen to have twins.

A few weeks later DH & I were sitting on the couch watching TV. When he grabed my hand and put his other hand on my belly. He said "It's like we are getting our baby back, plus one." (We had a miscarriage just before getting pregnant with our girls.)

I get the you don't look pregnant from behind. Your glowing. I have gotten quite a few people telling me that I'm carrying twins better than I did my son. All of these help me feel better.
