I have cuter pics of course, but I'm in a bit of a rush to finish this as nap time is near its end!


Summarize your last year with your little loves!!

Summarize...here goes! Well, we got off to a great start. It was a fairly uneventful pregnancy, other than the fact that there were TWO of them!! They were born at 37 weeks by Emergency C-Section (my water broke at home and was not the right color, BRIGHT RED; we think it was Olivia's placenta that started to abrupt) and were 6lb (Olivia) and 6lb 2oz (Evan). They were born Superbowl Sunday REALLY early in the morning and we went home first thing Wednesday morning with no NICU time, which is great because we don't have one on our island! Breastfeeding from the beginning is something I knew I wanted to do and today makes day 366! And still going strong at 5-6 times a day. B) It has been so much fun and hard work and I never knew I could love two little babies just as much at the same time! Not much of a summary I guess, it has been an eventful year for a first time mom and dad, but nothing seriously out of the ordinary, thank goodness!


Tell us about your 1st birthday plans? Do you have a theme or something special you are going to do?

We had a party for them last Saturday, it was tough competing with Superbowl Sunday for a party, we have so many football fan friends
I got some hats and plates and stuff with a Noah's Ark theme, and made some chicken in the crockpot with some Queso dip and tortillas and I made Carrot Cakes from scratch! I also made a Texas Sheet Cake for DH whose 34th birthday was Friday! We had about 12 friends over to hang out and play with the kids and have a groundhog's day beer or two; the friends, not me. They liked their cake but with everyone staring at them, they felt a bit like a sideshow! It was an understated party, but we have lots more to get excited and make a big deal about Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! We are so happy to be growing big and strong and looking foward to this next year and everything exciting that is bound to happen with TWO BABIES!
