I went shopping at whole foods today for some things that are only carried there and decided to browse the frozen food section because when dh watches them the easier it is the more likely he will feed it too them
I saw the Whole foods brand of mini cheese pizza's (the size of bagel bites) and thought that may be perfect and then found the frozen sweet potatoe fries, I cooked 6 mini pizza's and a handful of fries, they were gone so fast I thought maybe I should have cooked more!!!!!!! (then they ate some fruit, pumpkin bread and vegie sticks, little hogs!!).

So thought I would share, as I am always looking for good suggestions :D

I'm so jealous that you have a Whole Foods near you! People look at you like you have 3 heads when you buy organic stuff here!

The mini pizza's were only $2.99 (12 pizza's) and the sweet potatoes were $2.50 (large bag), so pretty reasonable. I am a VERY frugal person, so I will only buy if its a good buy B)

Great idea on the pizzas! I'll have to try those.

My girls love the sweet potato fries too! Whenever I cook those to go along with something else, they throw everything else on the floor and chow the fries. Silly girls!

Thanks for the dinner ideas... always looking for new things here! We just had chicken fried steaks here for the 1st time tonight and they were a hit, along with RAW SPINAGE leaves!! They loved them, whoda' thunk it!? Plus the pedi told me today that spinach and brocolli were the 2 #1 veggie we could give! I tried steamed brocolli 2 wks ago or so and it was a hit also.

I'll definitely have to look for sweet potato fries! The girls love it when I boil them and give them chunks but I need to remember to cook them before they're ready for their meal.

And I make the girls english muffin cheese pizzas (we almost always have a bag of shredded pizza blend cheese open in the fridge) and throw it in the toaster oven on broil. It's been somewhat of a hit (depends on which brand of spaghetti sauce I use!)

Where do you buy veggie sticks?

Thanks for the ideas...I think mine would probably eat raw spinach, I should try that.

I do sweat potato fries too!!! They carry them in King Soopers as well. I saute them with a bit of Olive Oil sometimes and some garlic salt, a touch of onion powder and SOMETIMES a dash of sugar. They usually gobble them up. Well, DS does anyway - but I should try the mini pizza's again!

It's hard for me to find a lot of stuff right now, so that's good!!

Thanks for posting. I've seen those little pizzas there and wondered how they would taste. I've tried the Trader Joe's brand and mine like those.

Sweet potato fries are great too. I love to make them from scratch too. It's easy - just tastes a few more minutes.

We have a Trader Joe's here that is relatively inexpensive. I don't buy a lot of organic, but when I can I do.

The store brand generic (365 organics) is actually pretty reasonably priced.

I prefer to get a lot of my organic/natural foods at Fred Meyer (Kroger to most areas of the country). However, DH is a 'shopping snob' and only goes to Whole Foods.

We also love the mini pizzas.......I "shred" fresh broccoli on them before I bake them.

They have them at most grocery stores here:
Veggie Stix Probably not the healthiest snack, but they do LOVE them and better than goldfish (though they get those too!!)
