we were in Target yesterday - Travis was carrying Addison and I had Ava Grace - I was as usual not paying much attention to anything except for the stuff on the shelf when I heard Travis say in his gruff tone - ok that's enough!! then it was please stop touching the baby!! I looked around and a little girl who could not have been any older tha 7 or 8 had both hands on Addison's head just sweetly rubbing!!! she looked perfect in every way - it just seemed like she was being stuborn and just wanted to rub Addison's head!! well then her daddy came over and got her away and it was obvious that something was so wrong I don't know if she was autistic or what but something was so not right. it was so sad! I get teary just thinking about it! I told her dad that it was ok and showed her that we had 2 babies - her little eyes just lit up - bless her life - I was so glad that my babies made her so happy . Travis felt so bad for using his (not mean) but gruff tone- he just didn't realize!

sorry this got so long - I am just sitting here thinking about that sweet child who was perfect in every way

    Aww! That is too sweet!!

I love it when I see that my two can make someones day. At the store, it is the older senior citizens who get so excited over them. It is cute. Makes me realize it probably brings so many memories to them, back in their lives, kwim?

I agree with everyone else, it does remind me how blessed I am when I see a child with disabilities. How sweet that you put a smile on her face!

It does make you feel blessed to have your beautiful babies, doesn't it??? Sometimes if you are in a "mood" it can get annoying when everyone wants to see/talk to /touch your babies, but usually it is pretty neat to see how your two babies really brighten people's day. Just this morning we went to breakfast and had so many people come up to us to compliment the babies, make them smile, etc. - like PP said, lots of senior citizens, and they are usually the ones who tell you how blessed you are.
My honey always says how beautiful and perfect our boys are and to be honest I tell him to stop saying that, I know how lucky we are and to keep saying it is almost an invite for something to go wrong, KWIM???

That is so sweet, it brings tears to my eyes. I feel like whenever I take the twins out they bring so much joy to people, that I rarely get frustrated by the attention. The looks on their faces when the babies smile back at them, you can see that they've made someone's day. I think it's particularly sweet that other children seem to respond SO strongly. We were just in target the other day and several kids came up to look at them and point them out excitedly to their mommies who were, of course, busy doing other things.

We are all blessed, as are the parents of the little girl you ran into. I'm sure that despite her disability she brings so much compassion and joy to her family and the people she touches.
