My twins are 9 weeks old and my son (~10lbs, drinking 5oz at each feeding) is easily sleeping 4 hour stretches during the night and sometimes during the day. My daughter (at least a pound less and drinking 3oz at each feeding) can only last 3 hours!!!

We've been feeding one, then the other (as soon as we're done with the first, ie, one 9pm, the next 10pm) but it's getting complicated now. I hate waking my son if he can go that long, but it seems necessary.

    Any advice?

    THANK YOU!

I always fed mine at the same time. If one woke, we woke the other so that they would eventually end up on the same schedule & to maintain my sanity. But, they have always been (and still are) within a couple of ounces of each other in weight. If she is taking 2 ounces less than him at every feeding, it might be difficult to keep them on the same schedule, at least for awhile. I'm not sure what to tell you, if it were me, I think I would feed them at the same time in the night even if it meant waking him. :pardon:

We were told by our ped that we had to feed them every 3 (then later 4) hours because they were such small preemies. I was waking them much more than I would have liked! We had to do that for the first three months, which was about when they hit the 10 lb mark. If I were in your shoes, I would wake him for another week or so then see what happens when you don't. My boys were always a pound off each other but I did have one that drank more than the other. If one woke at night for a feeding, I would feed them and then wake the other. Good luck and hang in there! You won't have to worry about this for too much longer!

I wake the second one to feed and always have to keep my sanity. It was hard in the beginning in that I had 2 very different eaters but they are decently similar now. My boy usually wakes me, I think my girl would sleep longer but they do well sleeping about 7 to 8 straight hours now. Hang in there momma!
