8 weeks old on a schedule?

My girls turned 8 weeks old on Monday and over the weekend they kind of got their selves on a schedule. They eat a 4-5 oz bottle at 4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm. This is working out really well for me, and for the first time since they've been born, I'm getting a little bit of sleep. However, there are some feedings where they are wanting to eat at 3 hours instead of 4, but I hold them off since this schedule is working so well. Does that seem wrong? Are they too young to make them wait for a feeding? And how much are you all feeding your twins and how often if they are on formula? They both have a cold right now too, and one has a double ear infection, so I don't know how much their being sick is playing into the schedule. Also, how much are your twins sleeping? One of my girls just catnaps through the day and the other takes 3-4 one hour naps during the day, then they both will go 6-7 hour stretch of sleep during the night. Does this seem right?

I don't know about anyone else but I am really jealous! Mine are nowhere near going that long at night (once they did a 5 hour stretch but that was just one time). Plus, mine are only really eating 3-3.5 ounces per feeding but still basically every 3 hours. I'm exhausted! I'm trying to make them go a little longer by not waking them, etc. between feedings and offering them as much as they want to eat (they take breast milk from the bottle) but, no, they like their 3 hour schedule. Sigh.
I say, if the babies are happy with it and it's working, then keep with it! I dream of the day that mine will go 6-7 hours at night....

I was there just last week, actually having a nervous breakdown. I don't know why all of a sudden they started sleeping that long, but I am extremely grateful! You are probably right around the corner from it!

If it's working for you, that's great! Many babies won't be on a schedule anywhere close to that early, so you are really lucky.

    Ditto!
I am sooooooooo jealous and could only dream of mine doing a schedule anything like that. I consider myself lucky if they both sleep for 3 -4 hrs at once at the same time!
    Keep doing what your doing!
    Yay for you!

Yeah, if it's working, go with it. I am insanely jealous. Mine didnt really get on a schedule or start sleeping longer stretches until they were at least 4 months old.

Me jealous too!! Mine r two months old drinking 3-4 oz every 3 hrs(or less) during the day, would go for 5 hrs at night if I prayed hard that day. Yes I try to hold on to thier feeding at night too. Partly because If is hard to get up in the night. If one of them woke up, I would just pick her up and let her sleep with me until the other wakes up.
    Keep up the good work!!!

I also say if the schedule is working for you, then keep it up :yahoo: At 8 weeks though, mine were still eating every three hours during the day and started to longer stretches at night...I think I was doing a feeding at 10 am and then another between 4 to 6 am (it varied). As for naps...mine were horrible nappers until they hit 6 months...they pretty much cat napped through the day at 8 weeks.
