I´m just curious as to what you mums did with your LOs at home when they had playtime. I want to know if what Im doing is the "norm" :)

    TIA!

At 8-9 months we were crawling, so lots of time on the floor. Also they loved their walkers at that age.

At 8 months we were in the exersaucer, jumperoo, sitting up rolling balls and shaking toys, and just having lots of floor time in general.

More of the same here...we love our floor time and exploring the rest of the house. My girls like a new environment to explore as the day goes on so we shift toys or modes between snack and nap time. We will start in the living room, then to nurse and snack and nap. When we return we will play upstairs in our room and brothers room and then to snack and then maybe take on the walkers in the garage. They like variety. I also rotate the bucket of toys in the living room every other day. Keeps them thinking. We also have fun wih everyday household toys i.e. giant boxes, shakers made from old containers and dried beans, pots and pans and the tupperware drawer in the kitchen.

    Best Wishes

pulling things off the side, finding pennies under the sofa, trapping fingers in doors, climbing up and falling down, dropping bread crumbs on the floor, pulling mummies hair, eating the newspaper, helping mummy on the computer.
    lol
but apart from that they do find time for touch and feel books, they like eating and banging wooden bricks, peek a boo and rhymes...

Same here. They played together with toys a lot. They would also crawl on the mommy jungle gym :).

They played with a lot of toys, just DD was crawling at the time, so she would crawl around a lot. We did reading, spent time in the exersaucer and jumparoo as well.

Mothership time (we call their activity seats motherships), jumperoos, playpen time, and Mum and Dad time pretty much takes up their day. We read to them, play jumping games with them, dance with them etc. When they're in their playpen, I set out a variety of toys of all different shapes and sizes. I put piles of the smaller ones into containers spaced around the play area so that they can go to a bowl or little bucket and sift through it to find something that interests them. I also put out books for them to look at. One of their favourite things is when I put out bowls and large plastic spoons (like wooden spoons but plastic so no splinters) and then can hit the bowls with the spoons (supervised).

Sometimes I'll take them up into one of their bedrooms and let them explore the floor area. They have furry animal rugs they love to roll on, and I hold them on their rocking horses so that they can go for a "ride" (they were gifts).

I'm planning on joining a mums group soon, and joining in park day activities.

Along with most everything that the pp's mentioned, my two LOVE their high chairs. Meals tend to drag on because they're so happy there. I dance, we sing, lots of finger food going on... Or I'll give them each a wooden spoon while I get dinner started and we all "cook" together. They love banging those spoons on their trays. The thing that works best for me is moving from room to room. We have a few different play spaces, the living room, their room and the kitchen, and switching it up from room to room helps a LOT.
