7 month old shaking head side to side

My 7 month old DD just started shaking her head side to side pretty quickly for no reason sometimes. I don't know if she has just discovered a new trick or what it is? Did anybody else babies do this? I can't remember my older girls doing it and my DS is not doing it. TIA!!!

 

My kids did that too. I think it is just a new "thing" they discovered they can do. My DD used to do it all the time. Very cute though.

 

My kids have all done this. Liam is still doing it, he laughs when he does.

 

My girls do it too and at first it freaked DH out. I figured they just learned how to move their heads from side to side. Now its a game... they shake their heads, and then I nod my head and say "YES!" then shake my head and say "No?" and then they shake their heads and I say "No?" and then they laugh hysterically!

 

Yep...mine both did it. Especially when we played this light up toy thing...as soon as it would start the head shaking would begin. DH freaked out about it but it's just a new thing/skill. Mine rarely do it now though.

 

yes- one of my DSs did this starting at around 5-6 mo I think? REALLY freaked me out- I couldn't tell if it was voluntary or not. Asked the ped, he didn't seem concerned (which bugged me, but that's another story!) However, DS has pretty much stopped doing it at this point! I suppose it's totally normal!

 

James did the same thing for a month. Now it's one of his "dance moves" when I put on some music around the house. So cute!

 

My Maia has been doing this since about 2 months! She has a bald spot on the back of her head from doing it. I call it the 'crazy lady'!!

 

Both of mine did that! I thought it was so weird. But the daycare teachers told me it was normal, so I didn't worry.

DH and I used to try to do it the way the girls did, and it gave us a headache. :icon_biggrin:
