6wks correspond with longer sleep at night?

I am desperate to know if this is true or not, all the books I have read say that somewhere around 6wks the babies will start to have a longer sleep during the night. Was this your experience? One of my twins I am sure would sleep 4-6hrs, but the other one is up every 3hrs to eat, so because one is up, we wake the other and feed her. My twins were born after 37wks, and are now 6wks 3days old

I think for us it was more like 10-12 weeks. :hug99:

my twin boys are only 2 weeks & i can not wait to get to that sleeping milestone. mines are the same way though as one could sleep for 6 hours while the other one is quite prompt on the 3-4 hour feeding but i wake both of them to keep them on the same schedule..

goodluck.. im patiently awaiting to get sleep too!!

For my older DD it did, for my twins it did not.

Mine sleep better now, but not every night...they will always at least go 4 hours but that didn't start until 3 months.

For us it wasn't until about 4 months (2 1/2 adjusted) that they started sleeping a stretch of 6 hours at night (went from 12am until about 6am). I think every baby is different though and you have to take the info provided in those books with a grain of salt. :love0028:

I was very jealous of friend's babies who slept more than 3 hrs at 6 weeks... I am not sure even now if they were telling the truth!
My babies were 3 hours from feeding until 8 weeks then extended to fours hours between 10-2 (the rest of the time still 3hrs) and then 10-3 at 10 weeks, 10-4 at 12 weeks and 10-6 at 14 weeks...
am sending you good vibes so that your babies may give you some more sleep :)

It didn't happen for my twins until around 10 weeks. With my older DS it was around 6 weeks....so maybe it has to do with the fact that the twins were 4 weeks premature.

14 weeks for us, but now at 6.5 months...up every 4. I think it goes in phases.
