help, my 6wk olds wont't nap during the day unless I am holding them, I put them in their cribs, but they wake up 20mn later, screaming. Then I have two screaming, and tired babies to deal with. any ideas? is this normal for this age?thought things were suppose to get easier at 6wks...

    Things to try:
Might they have an extra burp?
    Paci
    Swaddle
I would always put a radio near them and that would help mine sleep longer.
Others will probably have some more suggestions for you.

I still swaddled the boys for naps until about Sept when they were 5 months old. Sometimes I would let them sleep in their swings or if I was running errands and they fell asleep in car seat, I would just bring them in like they were and let them continue napping. Good luck!

BEEN THERE for FOURTEEN FLIPPING LONG MISERABLE WEEKS and IT KEPT GETTING WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cried every day.

The only thing that finally worked was the Vacuum Cleaner... They're five mos old now and I still do it for EVERY SINGLE nap!!!

I finally got a Vacuum Cleaner Noise CD and a boombox and it works like magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turn it on put them in cribs and you're in business.. It has never failed me.. NOT ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you're putting them down about an hour and 15 minutes after waking.. No longer at that age for sure!!

    Good luck!!

Mine wouldn't nap in their cribs at that stage either. Only way that mine would sleep in the daytime was to be bounced to sleep in their bouncy seats or swung to sleep in their swings.

For me, it didn't get easier until about 4-5 months.

My girls were good nappers on the couch so I would often let them nap there. Otherwise it was anyone's guess where to let them nap...on me, in the swing, in the bouncy, in the PNP, in their car seat...somewhere, anywhere, that they would sleep.

There were many, many naps I held both of them to get them to take a good nap.

I only put my boys to nap in their crib if they won't sleep anywhere else!

One has reflux and the other has plagiocephaly, so they mostly sleep in their bouncy and swing with head positioners behind them. The positioner is helping Joel's head, and the swing keeps Roman upright to help his reflux, and they sleep so well in them, I worry that my babies spend too much time napping!

I'd definitely recommend trying the swing and/or bouncy for your twins if nothing seems to work!

I'd also like to add that last week, Joel went through a "wide awake" phase where the only time he'd sleep was in the front carrier while I danced, folded laundry, and did the dishes. Seriously, he needed music and boogie and housework to sleep! I guess he was missing being inside!
