Does this sound like too much?

My son is growing like a weed. They were born at 5 lbs. 10 oz. 7 weeks ago and he weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. on Friday. He actually gained 9 ounces in 4 days. My daughter is doing pretty well also- she weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. on Friday. They are sucking down their 4 oz. bottles and last night DS woke at 1:45 for 4 oz. and had 2 more at 2:30.

I want to switch them over to the larger bottles with 6oz - does this sound right?

I have always fed my babies as much as they wanted as long as it wasn't coming back up at me. My twins were small eaters, but the other kids were up to 8 oz by 3-4 months.

Mine are 3 months on monday and every so often my little boy wants more but its usually justa fluke and we are still in 4 oz bottles. Switch if you need to... Mine are 9 and 10 lbs each. :)

My babies are just over 7 weeks and they have been eating 5-6oz at each feeding since they were 5-6 weeks old. Sometimes they suck down the 5oz and need more and sometimes they are satisfied with that much or a little less.

My girls are eating between 4-6 oz (pumped breast milk and formula) and they will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. They were born 5lbs and 4 lbs 7oz, they weighed 8lbs 2 oz and 7 lbs 4 oz yesterday. The doctor said 3-6 oz a feeding was great!

Yes, I'd go up in bottle size. I always made extra because my guys typically would suck down the whole thing and cry for more.

Sounds like a good plan. Mine are 7 weeks tomorrow, and we swtiched to the bigger bottles last week. I make 5 oz for each per feeding, and the are taking between 4 - 6 oz per feeding. The exception is we still use the 4 oz bottles at night - they are usually too tired to finish more. They weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz (Gabriella) and 10 lbs 3 oz (Henry) yesterday.

    Good luck!

Ditto, I let their appetite guide me.

My guys were born STARVING, I swear. I tried to breast feed them exclusively but couldn't keep up (and had lots of latching difficulties, etc.) so I eventually switched to bottles of pumped milk and then bottles of formula. They started out at an ounce or two and we seemed to go up an ounce every week or so. Now at 4.5 months they're already drinking 8 oz bottles. I say just feed your babies what they need - they're better at regulating their intake than you are. If it's too much you'll see lots of spitting up (unless they have reflux like mine - they'll spit up anyway). I use time as the best judge. If they can go about 3 hours then you gave them enough. If they only go 1.5 hours it might not have been enough.
