6 Weeks and Bleeding

I stumbled upon this site and have read everything posted about bleeding in early twin pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone experienced anything closer to what I am and went on to have a successful pregnancy. Went in for an u/s at exactly 6 weeks/1 day due to bleeding. They saw two fetuses (one sac), but no heartbeats. I thought that 6 weeks could be too early to see heartbeats but the doc said the prognosis wasn't good--especially coupled with the bleeding. I go back at exactly 7 weeks for another ultrasound if I haven't miscarried by then (3 more days!!). I'm on day 9 of bleeding. It's never been heavy, has been every color (brown, pink, red). The last two days it stopped but then I had some more red today. I've had some cramping as well but nothing intolerable. I've continued to have some pregnancy symptoms on and off. Some days I feel like it's the end and others I feel like a normal, healthy pregnancy (I have a 15 month old daughter).
Anyone with something similiar? Thank you in advance.

 

I know how scary this can be. I also had bleeding. I went in at about 6 weeks for an ultrasound. The Dr. wanted an early u/s due to a miscarriage last summer and at this point he expected to see hearbeat. All we saw was 2 sacs but no babies.(this was when we fond out there was twins) They said it may have been too early. I was 6 wk 2 days. 3 days later I began to bleed. we were devastated. We went right away and the Dr. did another u/s. This time, just 3 days later we saw 2 babies and heard 2 heartbeats. The Dr. said it was a subchorionic hemorrhage and that it may be off and on a few days then stop.. and it did. I am now 32 weeks with a healthy boy and girl. Take it one day at a time and prayers for you.

 

I had some bleeding in the 4th week, when I tested positive. I didn't have an u/s until the 8th week when I got to see 2 sacs & 2 faint heartbeats. I had terrible morning sickness though, worse than when I was pregnant with my 1st. I was also prescribed some medicine to stabilize the pregnancy, probably progesterone pills.

I bled my entire first trimester. It wasnt light bleeding either, it was run down your legs pool at your feet bleeding. I went on to have 2 very healthy baby boys. Let us know how the U/S goes.

 

I'm so sorry. That must be so hard.
My doc will never do a U/S before 6w 3days (unless there's an issue) because it can take that long to see a heartbeat. I think there is always hope so hang on in there for a few more days. Drinks lots of water and take it easy.

 

:hug: I'm sorry you are worrying about this. Bleeding is common during the first trimester.

 

I think 6 weeks is probably too early for a heartbeat, but I know the bleeding is worrisome. I had bleeding around 7 weeks. Try to hang in there and I hope everything is okay.
