6 months old today

    I can't believe my babies are 6 months old today. Where does the time go? We have our follow up NICU appointment on Friday and I'm really looking forward to showing them off. They look so different now.

    I'm going to start weaning from the pump today. It's bittersweet. In some ways, I'd love to keep going. I'm really proud of myself for exclusively pumping for 6 months. I love that they've received breast milk for so long and wish I could continue until they are a year old. But, there is no possible way to pump once I get back to work in August, so I guess it's time to start the process. I'm also looking forward to the freedom though. What will I do with the extra three hours each day that I used to spend pumping? I'm doing this slowly. I'm decreasing each pumping session by 5 minutes every three days, so they'll still get milk for a while. Plus, we have about a three week supply in the freezer.

    Thanks for the support you all have given over the past 6 months. I'm looking forward to six more exciting months in FY!

    Happy 1/2 year birthday!! Glad you get to show them off!! I have to say :bow2:, you are my hero for pumping for 6 months! :bow2: You did great! It really seems like yesterday that I heard you had given birth! :) Glad they are doing so well!

    Happy 1/2 birthday! :) And a great big WTG for pumping for so long. You are truly awesome. :bow2: Maybe you can use those extra 3 hrs to soak in a bubble bath after a nice massage? You deserve it! :)

    DH actually just came home the other day with a gift certificate for an hour long full body massage for me. He said it was "just because." Awww. He's so thoughtful. I'm waiting until my boobs get back to normal so I can lay comfortably.
