6 Month Check-Up

    The babies went for their 6 month well-baby visit and to get their latest shots.
    Here are our new stats!

    Rea- 16lb2oz and 25in,
    J- 15lb15oz and 26in.

    J grew 1.5 inches since their 4mth check-up! They are both pretty much sticking to the 50th percentile for everything.
    The doctor was very pleased with everything. He gave me a few suggestions on clearing up Rea's cradle cap (but I think I'll try the Dawn idea that posted a day or so ago!) and he also gave us the go ahead on a few new foods. He said they look great and he'll see us at 9 months! (I LOVE our pedi. He is so awesome. He's just as good with the parents as he is the kids. I've seen him with older kids and they all seem to love him. We really lucked out with him!)


    And our other big news is that they are upstairs sleeping WITHOUT their swaddles!! Yay! They were super exhausted after going to the doctor and then out to eat this evening so we thought it would be a good time to just let them go. So far so good. We see how the rest of the night goes!

    Good Luck tonight!! We did away with swaddling cold turkey and it took about 2 nights for them to "get it" and now life is wonderful! I dont know how I swaddled for as long as I did...

    Yay for the good check up! My girls are also in the 50th percentile and have been there since the beginning pretty much. I think it's great:) Congrats on not having to swaddle and I hope your night goes well!

    Well, I gave up and swaddled DD after 7 hours or so. She was still fussy- not really all the way awake, but grunting and whining- and she had her paci in her mouth. I ended up feeding them and she calmed down. So I think that was the culprit and not the lack of swaddle. (She hasn't been the one to wake up for a bottle in almost 2 months, so that's why I didn't just feed her.)

    Right now we are attempting to nap without the swaddles. I think she's sleeping, he's not.

    We'll see how it goes!
