I don't know what happened with scheduling their 6 month appointment, but they had it yesterday at 6 months, 2 weeks and 1 day. Anyone else feel like their doctor's appointments are an opportunity to show off your amazing kids? I don't mean to brag, but these two little girls just amaze DH and me every single day. It was a really great appointment, except for the tears when it was shot time (theirs and mine).

Meara is now 15.9lbs and 25 1/2"- this is 50th percentile for her adjusted age of 5 months for both height and weight (its around 25th percentile for chronological age). Ana is 15.3lbs and 26 1/2"- 50th percentile for weight for adjusted age and off the charts for height!!! We joked that between her red hair and her length (I'm barely over 5' tall), that maybe we should call the IVF clinic and make sure there wasn't any mix up with the embryos!!!

Developmentally they are both doing so well. Meara is scoring around 7 months and Ana is just a little behind her (mostly because she can't sit for very long because she MUST.KICK.ALL.DAY.LONG!!!!).

We also talked about the RSV injections... I spoke to the nurse last week and she said we got our approval, but our doctor said it was still pending. Since the girls are no longer in daycare we talked about whether or not we should do the injections. She said if they are approved from the insurance company we definitely should, but if we are denied the girls are considered borderline since they were 6 weeks early, but have been healthy. We talked about RSV precautions. She said that staying inside away from people for the entire season is, in her opinion, too extreme. We should be smart about it and take some precautions like not going to a crowded store or mall and make sure people wash their hands or use sanitizer before picking up the girls.

Finally, our clinic received a donation of board books to increase literacy awareness. One of the residents came in and gave each girl a book "In case they don't have any." HAHAHAHH!!! We have an entire library for them since my book club threw me a book shower while pregnant and then at my family/friends baby shower everyone brought their favorite children's book. But it was very nice and a great idea! This clinic serves a wide range of families and there are probably people who are very busy with their lives and might not think to read to a 6 month old.

If you've gotten this far, thanks for reading- sorry for the blantant bragging. -Leighann
