Peyton's 6 month appointment was a few days ago. I cannot believe he is 6 months old! He's rolling and smiling and laughing and gooing. I put his preemie and newborn clothes in storage the other day, talk about sad. Anyways back to his appointment, he's 15 pounds 10 oz and 26 1/2 inches. Doc said he looks great and is doing great. He's not up to speed with other 6 month olds but is doing great for his adjusted age.

Since its picture sharing season again, heres some new ones! Nevermind how bad I look in the one of us together.

    New pictures!

    So cute!

Don't worry about not being up to speed. He actually weighs more than one of my guys and I'm sure he's probably at the same level developmentally and mine were born at 38+1.

He is a darling! Looks like he went in a food coma from too many Hot Tamales!

Such a cute little guy! Glad the appointment was good.

I am curious what you mean by "not up to speed" -- if you don't mind sharing. My two were born the day after yours, and I am debating calling Early Intervention because I have some concerns about their development -- so I would love to know what your little guy is up to. (I know we shouldn't compare, as every baby is different, but it is helpful to talk to other moms of preemies the same age....thanks!)

What I mean by not up to speed is he's not developmentally where a full term 6 month old should be. But he's right on target for his adjusted age, which is just over 4 months. So far he's rolling back to front and front to back, holds his head up steady, sits up well when assisted, smiles, goos and ahhhhhhs, starting to chuckle, (I don't know if this is a development thing but...) he pushes him self up and down when we stand him up.

That's really good for a 6 month old! It doesn't sound like he's developmentally behind for his actual age at all. One of mine doesn't even sit up well when assisted and is still shaky in the neck department and he was born full term (38+1) - 2 days before Peyton. He's doing a great job and I wouldn't worry at all about him being behind.

Hmm -- those things all sound great -- did your ped mention things that a full-term 6-month-old *should* be doing that Peyton is not?
