My b/g twins are turning 5 soon. She wants a girly tea party (although she is very active and loves to play boy stuff too), and he wants a spy/scavenger hunt party. I am looking for some idea help on how to combine these two themes so we can hold one party. There will be about 10 to 12 kids total at the party. I think it could be really fun. I'm just looking for some great ideas from those that understand the twin thing.

thanks in advance for any ideas/experiences you can share to help!

Do you have help? If you do split them apart and have the girls do tea and such and the bouys the hunt and than you can do cake and some games together.

What about a Princess and Pirate party? All the guests could dress as the one they chose and you could search for buried treasure.

I actually did this for my girls when they turned 5. You'd be amazed at all the tacky glitzy stuff you can find at the dollar store to support this theme!

My favorite decoration was getting helium balloons in pink & black, about a dozen each. I tied them to the goodie bags and lined the driveway with them. It looked really cool. The color was the clue about whether the goodies were more for girls or boys (but one of my girls herself wanted the "boy" bag). I bought little sachet bags from Walmart and filled them with colored aquarium stones, added gold-wrapped chocolates, plastic jewelry, fish magnets. The girls had the most fun helping fill the bags and setting them out on the driveway.

I'm sorry, I completely overlooked the word "spy" in your post (where are those *&$% glasses, anyway?!).

Okay, how about you do a scavenger hunt for tea set items and the first team to get their table set up with the tea cups and saucers etc gets a price. I guess it depends on how many kids are playing, maybe can pair up into twos.

Oh I just now see you said 10-12 kids, perfect can have four teams of three or someting. Have four small tables for a tea party, but who will get their items first...

Thanks all. You got my brain going. Plan is: boys will be a team of spies on a mission to track down a jewel thief... suspected to be one of the ladies at a posh tea. Boys will do some clue-following while the girls have tea and get ready to join the mystery fun. Start out apart, end up as one group. Each group will have 1 parent and at least 1 other helper to facilitate the adventures/party. My 9-year old daughter is going to help me plan it all out and firm up the games/adventure. I got some great props at the thrift store (spy bags for the boys, purses for the girls, interesting boxes and containers for clues, spy hats and helmets). Hope it will be fun. Trying to remind myself to KEEP IT SIMPLE!

Thanks again for getting me going.
