Ok, Jake is going to drive us to an early grave...he has barely slept today and keeps acting hungry...Is this normal? Does anyone know?

I'm hoping a rough day will mean a good night, of course, Becca has slept today, so she'll probably be a nightmare tonight...are they 18 yet??? Will I ever sleep again?

At that age, I don't know what is normal [IMG]. Bryce went through a huge growth spurt around 5 weeks that seemed to last forever. We were constantly feeding him. I think he was taking 36 oz. a day on some days!! Maybe filling that little tummy will help him sleep.

Unfortunately, I don't think no-sleep during the day translates to no sleep at night (sleep begetts sleep theory). Have you tried having him nap in a swing so that he is lulled by motion, or tried swaddling?

You will sleep again - I promise. Although, I maybe only get a good night sleep 2 nights a week. And to me, a good night sleep is if I get a total of 6 hours over the course of the night. [IMG]

Your body just acclimates and you run off adrenaline for those first 12 weeks. At some point, try and get a good night sleep for yourself by having a trusted family member take them overnight if you can for one night.

    Hang in there!

If he is acting hungry, perhaps he is. I know that periodically, mine went through growth spurts and would break away from their routine feedings (they were strict 3-hour eaters, on their own accord). Sometimes they would want to/need to eat every hour and half for a day or two. It is hard.

Other than that, my only advice is to swaddle tightly, put her in a swing, and if she'll take one, give her a pacifier.

And yes, you will sleep again. It may be awhile, but it WILL happen! [IMG]

Swaddle swaddle swaddle! it may just help. Unfortunately there is no "normal" at this age. They don't get more predictable until 3.5 to 4 mo.

I find that with mine, if they don't have a good nap in the morning, the whole day is shot, and they don't sleep good at night either. The better or more they sleep during the day, the better they do at night.

whoo hoo lady, I hear you! Is there a smilie for banging my head against the wall?
What's worse, they seem to take turns as to who's the fussy one, defying all my guesses as to what's wrong.

I think it's a growth spurt and that they are hungry. Are you exclusively bf? We're doing a combo, and I get so frustrated when I nurse for an hour, only to have them wake up in five minutes like their starving! Then my husband looks at me like, what were you just doing for the last 60 minutes?? [IMG] So we end up giving them a bottle and like magic, they go to sleep.

Sorry to take over your post with my vent! But believe me, I feel ya! Hoping this will all be a distant dream by next month. . .
