I am still waiting for that morning full of amazement that they have slept more than 3 hours. They eat every three hours during the day.
Anyone with babies the same age have any luck yet? How in the world did it happen?

Mine were born at 34 weeks and didn't sleep through until 7 months when we sleep trained them. Jacob did start to sleep longer stretches at 5 months and did sleep through once at 6 months, but then we went on vacation and messed everything up. So at 7 months we Ferbered the babies and now they sleep through.

My girls were 34 weekers. They started sleeping through the night at 4 and 4 1/2 months actual age. We sleep trained them to only eat once during the night when they were about 3 or 3 1/2 months old. They were getting up every 2 1/2 or 3 hours during the night, but only drinking an ounce of two of the bottle and then going back to sleep. I don't know that we would have sleep trained them had they been drinking full bottles every 3 hours. About a month after they started waking only once at night to eat they dropped the feeding on their own. A great book is Good Night, Sleep Tight by Kim West.

    Good luck [IMG]

Nope!!! MY guys were born on 8/21 at 31.4 weeks and they still eat and sleep eratically. In fact I have started calling my self the 24/7 mommy buffet. I dont think they have every gone longer than 2 hours w/out eating. Sorry I couldn't help, but atleast you know you are not alone.

I BF so I'm not too sure about volume... what do you mean by 'sleep train'?

I read the book 12 hours sleep in 12 weeks and one of my sons started sleeping 8am - 8pm at 12 weeks. The other one still wakes up at about 5 am everyday.

I can't say that I followed the book exactly, but it did have some good ideas.

One thing I have noticed is how sleeping well through the night is influenced by how well they are napping in the day. Interestingly my son who takes the two good naps in the day, slept better than his brother who did not take naps. When I started helping my other son take naps, I noticed his nighttime sleeping improved.

To me "sleep training" means changing the sleep pattern that they want to the sleep pattern I want! Since they weren't eating very much, just nibbling, we decided to see if we could get them to wake only once and eat only once during the night. We would feed them and put them down around 9 p.m. They would wake at midnight, and instead of feeding them we'd go in and shush and pat their backs, give them their pacifiers, etc. until they went back to sleep. I would say within a week or so they stopped waking at midnight, and would wake around 3 a.m., which is when we would feed them. Then they were up for the day with a feeding at 6 a.m.

Mine were born at 35 weeks. They were waking at least once at 5 months. They didn't start sleeping through the night (8pm-7am) until right before 6 months. I know how exhausted you are. I hope your turn comes soon!

Ours are 3.5 months actual age. I also bf our little ones and they are getting slowly better sleeping at night. Our dd sleeps from about 7-12/1 and then once more after 4 hours of sleep. Our ds sleeps from 630-11ish and then wakes every 2 to 3 hours to eat. I don't wake the other when one of them wakes. I'm hoping their initial stretch of sleep will lengthen soon. Do they wake every three hours to nurse the whole night? Do they have any longer stretches during the night hours? I hope things improve for you soon!!!

I have noticed that if the naps are better during the day they go down at night better...
