My Lo's will sometimes wake at 5-5:30. Sometimes its only my DD...its pretty much just my DD. She starts babbling. I used to feed them an dthey would go right back to bed. Now sometimes she will and sometimes she won't. Im also having a problem with her falling asleep then he won't so he ends up wakin gher back up an dthen he falls alseep.....UGH!!!! I don't know whether to leave her or continue in this madness. They used to legitimatly need that 4-5 am feed, now its more play time. They will eat the bottle but won't go right back to sleep. Whats happenin gis they are then tired in the am an dcan't stay up for a good morning nap and the whole day is off. I have been tryin gto put them down earlier, however now they just sit in there and play. Any thoughts would be appreciated.....
I don't have any advice, but my DS seems to be doing the same thing. He has been STTN for a little while, but now he has been waking up at 5:30 -6, and is ready for the day. It's been messing everything up.
I say leave em. Sometimes mine wake at 5 and I give them a paci and then ignore. If they wake at 6 I turn on the tv for them (noggin) and hope they make it to 630.
Mine did that for quite some time, it stopped all of a sudden. I did feed them before 5 and/or at around 5 am and then would put them back and leave them until 7 am. Usually they would sleep or sometimes wake up at 6.30 am. Sometimes it did take them an hour to fall back to sleep but then again, I would wake them up at 7 am. I tried everything, going to bed later, earlier, ignore, CIO, etc. I would always keep the room dark, quiet, no talking, feed and back to sleep. It basically worked until they outgrew this bad habit around 9-12 months old. I had many conversations with Weissbluth, and we did try everything ... they were well rested, happy babies ... just nothing seemed to work but again, it did stop!
Mine are working on STTN. And on those days where they wake at 0530-0600, I feed them [cause you think it's been X amount of time since they've eaten] and then [at least try to] put them back to bed. If for some reason they don't want to sleep anymore that's when I wake the other and we're all awake for the day.
mine wake up every morning at 5, i feed them and they go back to sleep for an hour most days but some days of course they don't. I will be going back to work in 2-3 weeks so I don't mind feeding them then (I breastfeed) since it'll be one of the few times I'll still get to feed them after I go back. CIO isn't something I feel comfortable doing at 5am because it's been soo many hours since they had last eaten.
We have a "don't enter the nursery before 7 a.m." rule in our house...unless the babies are full-force crying, we don't go in there and 9/10 they usually fall back to sleep if they are stirring before 7. Yours are younger though and may need an earlier feed...but if they aren't full-out crying, why don't you try leaving them in there a little and see what happens? I remember this being hard for me at first too, but eventually they did go back to sleep, proving they didn't need that ridiculously early bottle
lol this was kind of my situation this morning! Well one of my monkeys was sleeping like an angel and probably would of stayed that way tll 7.30ish like normal but the other little monkey was up talking to her self at 6am. I left her abit to see if she would go back but she just got louder, i naughtily offered her paci but she wasn't having it... she was up for the day so we all were at 6.30am. Like a pp mentioned it throws the whole day off, does anyone know how we can claw it back?? Lateley our bedtime has been falling between 6 and 7 and this works well but now it will fall around about 5 which is too early?!?!?! Sorry i am abit clueless but thought i'd share what happened in our house.
I am also having the same problem. The babies go to bed around 7:30-8:00. Brody wakes up for a night need around 3:00, but Julia sleeps straight through until around 5:30. Brody then wakes up around 6:00. I really don't want to start the day then, and I'm not doing CIO yet. So I take the babies with me to bed until 7:00. They go right back to sleep as soon as we get into my bed. I figure this is cuddle time and it's getting them use to sleeping till 7:00 (fingers crossed). This maybe the worst thing to do, but I'm not sure what else to do.
My boys have been going to sleep about 10pm ans sleeping until 5am ( usually only one wakes up then ). i just bring that one into bed with me and nurse him so he doesnt wake his brother up. i'm just so happy at this point to be getting 7 hours sleep that i will deal with a 5am feeding. Kenneth and Ian are 2 months and 2 days old
