How many hours a night do your 5-6 month olds sleep? What time do they go to bed and wake up? How many naps and for how long.

    Curious!! Thanks!

This is going to be approximate b/c I don't remember exactly. I think we were on three naps with a 5/5:30 wake up and 6:30 bedtime. They were still eating at least once during the night and usually waking around 3 but falling back asleep. Our naps were usually 3 hrs after wake up, 1pm and 4-5pm.

My boys sleep 12 hours at night. They go to bed at 7 dream feed at 10 and wake up at 7am. They do still need a pacify some nights. They get 3 naps ranging from 1-2 hours. I think they sleep a lot, but they need it!

My 5 month olds (4 mo adjusted) sleep 10-12 hrs per night with no night feedings. They go to bed at 6:30 am and usually get up around 6 am. They're awake 1-1/2 to 1 hr 45 min at a time during the day with 3 naps anywhere from 1-1/2-3 hours.

Bed appx 6:30, wake between 6:00 and 6:30. So we're right around the 12 hour mark at night. They might wake occasionally but they typically sleep through (I hope I didn't jinx it).

Naps during the week are tough because they're at daycare. So the durations aren't tracked strictly. They do about 4 a day, 45 minutes to an hour each. On weekends we prioritize naps and they do about 3 full naps of an hour to an hour and a half each plus one catnap later in the afternoon.

My girls get out of their cribs and have a bottle at 8:00 am, nap around 10, 1, and 3 for an hour to hour and a half and sometimes catnap around 5 or 6. They go to bed after their 8:00 pm bottle and typically don't make a sound until 7:45 am the next morning- it's wonderful! Like PP, I hope I don't jinx this!!!!

Thanks for the info. My LO's are pretty much the same 6-6:30 (wake once) and sleep until 6:30-7, 3 naps too. The reason I asked is I was reading an article by Dr. Ferber and he said
5-6 mo. olds should only be sleeping 9.5 hours a night and only 12 hours for the whole day . I was wondering if I was way off, they are sleeping around 14-16 hours a day.

    Thanks!!

Dont listen to Ferber! Mine sttn 12 hours and were still sleeping 3 or 4 hours during the day too (3 naps). Each baby is different and you´ll soon see who needs more/less sleep. Last week, my two were needing 3 naps again and now they are back to 2. Mine are 10 months old!!!! Yours sound right on track to me! ;)

I read the same article too :D Mine go to bed at 6 pm - 6:30, depends on how long it takes me to feed, bath, bottle, etc...and wake up about 5:30 or 6 (first bottle is around 6:40 or 7). I tried keeping them up longer but they still wake up at about the same time.
Story time is done during the day because after the bath they ready for bed!

during the day they take about 3 45 min naps.

This was our schedule at 5 months:

    7am wake
    8am bottle
    9am solids~fruit and oatmeal
    930am nap
    11am bottle
    2pm bottle
    230pm nap
    5pm bottle
6pm solids~veggie, fruit, and oatmeal and bathtime
    8pm bottle and bed

I only have 2 naps in there, but, they usually take a couple of catnaps, depending on how long their two main naps are.

In between feedings and naps, they get floor time, jumper time, and exersaucer/walker time. Emma is sitting unsupported now, and Jacob sits in his Bumbo.

Their bottles are 5-6oz. Jacob will eat 2 of the small jars of baby food, or 3-4 cubes of homemade baby food, and I am lucky to get 1 jar into Em, she loves her bottles!! Emma sleeps thru, and Jacob wakes a few times for a binky.

I read the same article and understood it as babies need atleast 9.5hrs of sleep at night and of course every baby is different.

Mine go to bed at 7 and wake up between 7-8. We have 3 naps during the day and they can range anywhere from 30mins to 2.5hrs, I never know what I'm gonna get at nap time.

I'm so jealous of so many of you!!!!!

Mine go to sleep for the night around 7:30/8 then Ronan sleeps until 6/7 am most nights (on "off" nights, he'll wake around 5 but is pretty easy to get to sleep again). William, on the other hand, wakes around 12 and then every 1-3 hours after until 7 when he's UP!

They nap again around 9:30, 1, and 4. Ronan naps anywhere from 30-90 minutes each nap and William only naps about 30 minutes each nap.

William doesn't want to miss anything, not even for necessary sleep or eating!

Mine went to bed between 6-7pm and sttn until 7am. Then we fed them and played a little, for about 1-1.5 hrs. then a nap for 1.5-2 hours..usually around 2hrs. Wake up feed, play for around 1-2 hours, follow their sleepy cues, then back for another nap. This one was shorter around an hour or 1.5. We did three naps and still sometimes do. Our longer naps tend to be in the morning and the shortest ones are closer to the evening. I loved this schedule. The babies did great with it and they were consistently sttn.

My girls slept from 6:30 or 7 pm - 6:30-7am. They would take 3 naps, generally 30-45 minutes long. Once in a while, they slept an entire hour....
