5:28AM and getting earlier every day

I can't wait for daylight savings time to start!!! They did this very same thing last year -- shifted their schedule in advance of the time change. There is something just plain wrong about waking all chipper before 5:30  This morning's conversation was about Daddy and whether he's at a hockey game, sleeping, at work, or on an airplane. It's hard to be annoyed at their early rising when they are being so funny.

Yuck!! 5:30??? At least they amuse you when they wake you that early! :pardon:

That is just TOO early! :love0028: At least you have a good sense of humor about it!! Oh, and when they don't realize DH is in bed, they say "Daddy went bye bye" but usually (on weekends) he's just sleeping right there....THAT is funny on the morning when he just got home while they were sleeping. :D

Mine do stuff like that too Deb. They come in and say "Mama, I slept all night!" "Mommy, I want a bar" (it's not funny, but it's sweet!)

I was telling them they have to stay in bed till Morning - but I don't want it to start getting light earlier and earlier and have them waking up earlier. I need to teach them the #7 and put the clock in there and teach them 7:00 and that's going to be my best hope!!

Oh, and what's really hilarious is that DH did go to a hockey game last night, got home very late, and they ran in and turned the bedroom light on for him as soon as I had them dressed... so like 5:45. :rotflmbo:

No way! I HATE early wake ups! I don't get anyone up until, at the very earliest, 7am. The time change will make that 8. Yay! When IS the change anyway?

I'm sorry! I feel your pain. Gabe is habitually awake between 5 and 5:30 every morning *sigh* The others sleep till after 6, but if I leave him in their room he will wake everyone else up. So I get up.

When they come in that early (mine usually don't) and DH has left for work, they climb into his side of the bed and fall asleep and I can get in another hour or 2.

I go in and tell them it's still night time and they need to go back to sleep! Then I go back to bed and try to ignore it. Hope it's just a phase!

I would except they're morning poopers... if they haven't gone in their diapers yet when I get there, they need to get to the potty ASAP and nothing wakes a kid like a good poop ^_^

We made it back to 6 this morning so I'm hoping they settle in there because that would be 7 after the time change (which happens 3/9).

Best of luck to you. My son was up singing at 6:00 this morning. He's so happy it is almost disgusting.

How did I miss this post? We did this for months and months and MONTHS. It was absolutely exhausting. I was grumpy, emotionally fragile, and exhausted as it coincided with their terrifying Death-Defying Acts stage. I was lucky if I got 9.5/10 hours out of them at night. At 16m we went on vacation for a week and they woke up at 4:30 AM every day. It sucked.

We rigged a night light up to a lamp timer and told them it wasn't morning until their light got bright-bright. Some mornings they bawled for 20-minutes, but they are used to it now. I have it set so it comes on at 6:15am (early, but acceptable). However, if my kids were first-thing crappers and prone to "Poopcaso" tendencies I'd get up too. I'd much rather get up early and spend the morning with disturbingly chipper toddlers than sleep in and waste my day rectifying bio-hazard conditions. :bad:

There must be something in the air?

Mine used to sleep 7-7 for a while and now they are awake at 5:45/6, that is just too early for me!

It makes for a LONG day......
