It's always a great day when the first thing you hear is a yak and it's SO EARLY. Trent is acting like he feels OK but he's thrown up once since then. He went and got a little dish towel from the kitchen, put it on the couch, and then vomited on the towel (of course the towel was nowhere near large enough). I'm giving him credit for trying, though.
So, we're having a low-key morning (Trevor seems to know he shouldn't tackle Trent today) and I'm hoping like crazy that Trevor and I don't get this bug.

That is so sweet that he went and got a towel to help out. :hug99: to you and :hug99: to your little boys, Trent to feel better and for Trevor not to get the bug. Please let it be spring soon! T

    Oh no, Debi!

That's too sweet that even when sick he's trying to be such a big boy and help out. I hope he's feeling better soon and that it doesn't migrate its way through the family.

Could this day get any better?! I put them down for nap at 11 instead of 11:30. Some contractor DH met with the other day showed up unannounced and started poking around our garage taking measurements. The dog went nuts (as well he should) and woke the boys (and they woke completely -- Trevor pooped and Trent got sick again. I put them in the tub for a little while but they weren't happy about it. Neither would eat their lunch so I'm pretty much guaranteed that Trevor has it too and will be puking soon. They've barely had a 45-minute nap now on top of everything else and they're both screaming, raving lunatics over every little thing.

Oh, and I wasn't there for the meeting with the contractor so I had no idea who these two guys were with their unmarked trucks pulled up hanging around in the garage. If I hadn't known he had been getting bids on some work, I would have called the police instead of asking them what they were doing (and yes, I called DH and had the cell phone at my ear when I opened the door)

    Arg...you just can't catch a break today!

I would have been soooo PISSED about the contractors not coming to the door first. ESPECIALLY with an unmarked vehicle!

    Here's hoping it's a 24-hour bug. :drinks: (here's a couple of stiff drinks if it's not).

And considering that they haven't actually been hired (they're just supposed to be putting a bid together), I'd call an unscheduled visit and taking liberties with access to the prospective job site trespassing! It's two small jobs with the potential to earn one large job and we're having no trouble finding interested contractors in spite of the many post-tornado jobs that are available right now so I'm going to tell DH to red-line them on the list and they'll be my "when He!! freezes over" selection.

Yeah, I'm still pissed. And the boys never did settle for a second half-nap so they're in rare form. I have them pacified for the moment with their Tinkertoys (a rare treat because I hate picking up the 100+ pieces should they decide not to cooperate). I'm trying to decide now if it's better to put them to bed at 6 and know they may get up very early again tomorrow or try to hold them off until 7 and know that they may wake early anyway and very, very cranky.

FWIW, both my girls and DH had the stomach bug Super Bowl weekend, and I was puked upon big time at least 10 times. And somehow I never got sick. There is a chance you'll escape. Keep washing your hands!

Oh yuck! Hope that bug passes quickly and everyone is feeling better soon. And boo hiss to those contractors. That would piss me off too.

ugh! how is everyone feeling today?

a friend of mine's twin girls had the stomach bug a few weeks ago and she somehow taught them to vomit in the garbage can - apparently they thought that was hysterical so they gladly cooperated!

hope everyone is feeling better today!

Well, Trevor picked at his food last night and then vomited after as I'd suspected he might. I was pleasantly surprised, though, that he's up and about this morning and has downed four dry banana pancakes and a huge quantity of water with no ill effects. Trent is having a rougher go and I was up changing his bed and pajamas several times last night. He drank a lot of water this morning and vomited after each drinking binge. I finally convinced him to take just a little and then nursed him to sleep and he slept soundly for 90 minutes with no vomiting on waking. That bit of fluid & extra sleep seems to be making a huge difference for him because he's been able to drink water since then and he's had two pancakes. He just went to the potty and produced a good quantity and although it's still darker than normal, I've changed my mind about needing to take him to the doctor for a hydration check and anti-nausea meds.

I left the pancakes out where they can get them and Trevor just ran and got two more :good:

Yea...I was hoping you'd update us this morning. Glad to hear things are improving...though it still sounds awfully messy!

    Stay healthy yourself!
