does anyone else out there have little ones that take these short mini/cat naps? I'm assuming this is normal and eventually they will get longer, right? My b/g twins are only 5 1/2 months old...I've even let them CIO after 45 minutes to see if they go back to sleep.

    How long are their days?

At 5.5 months this is what our day was like: Wake up around 5:30 am, down for first nap at 7 am. First nap usually lasted from 7 - 8 am. They were down for their 2nd nap around 10 am, and usually slept til around noon. Then they went down for their final nap around 2 pm and it was pretty short, only about 40 - 50 minutes long. Then they were down for the night by 6 pm.

Our nap schedule was non existent at 5.5 months but on the rare occasion that we were blessed with a nap at that time, it would be for 45 minutes and we would try to get them to go back to sleep but it did not work. Once we hit about 6 months, they could stretch it to an hour and the nap length seems to have increased as they started being more mobile and exploring.

It's totally normal. 45 minutes was the magic number for us for months. My boys did four 45-minute naps a day for the longest time. Naps started to lengthen when they started crawling and tiring themselves out more (around 9 months).

PERFECT, good to know this is normal. They appear to be in good moods right now after the last 45 minute naps so I'm cool with that :D

Mine did that at that age. It was just a phase and they grew out of it shortly after that age. Then they went to three regular naps a day. Hang in there .

Yep, totally normal. They will eventually lengthen out and get to 3 naps a day. Mine did 3 naps a day from about 7-9 months and then dropped to 2.
