My girls are still taking 4 bottles a day. When should I expect them to drop the fourth? Should I increase their solids?

When did your LO's drop their fourth bottle?

It would depend on how much they can drink at once. Mine could drink 8oz at once but i know a lot of babies can't. I dropped around 8-9months bc they drank more with the 3 bottles than with the 4. Increase their solids as you see fit. When we dropped to 3 they were eating 3 solids meals with the bedtime one being table food. I added in a snack if it would fit in between naps and meals and bottles as they got the hang of it:)

They eat 3 meals a day and have a snack in between. They both take (4) 7oz bottles. I'm wondering when they will drop one, but I know they are small for their age (only in 10th percentile), so this could be why they are still taking 4. Hmmmm...still a guessing game. I know there are days when they don't seem hungry at all and could probably go without that 4th but I still give it to them.

None of my kids dropped below four feedings a day (whether nursing or bottle fed). They would nurse/bottle and solids at about 8 noon and 4 then nurse/a bottle at bedtime between 7:30 and 8 pm. We switched over to sippies but they still got them at the same times. It wasn't until about 15 mos that we moved the bedtime cup to dinner time.

We never dropped to 3 either. We went right to milk sippies at 13 months and included 3 meals plus 2 snacks.

I think we dropped to 3 8oz bottles around 10 months.

We didn't until they moved to one nap, which was somewhere around 15 months. By then they were on straw cups, so they just got a straw cup of milk after nap. Otherwise, they were getting a bottle or sippie upon waking in the morning, at bedtime, and after each nap.

It sounds as though they might stay on 4 bottles until they drink milk. Thanks ladies~!
