4 months today :)

hi everyone

we've hit the 4 month mark today. also had their 4 month appointment today with shots. all things considered they took it well, and the little munchies are in bed sleeping as i type.

i remember coming onto this board in the beginning while sitting here completely falling apart.... drenched in my own tears (and theirs) feeling like there was absolutely no way that we would make it through even another hour, much less a whole month. sleep deprivation is a hard pill to swallow.

anyways, though we still have melt-downs here and there, we really have come a long way... and i owe a lot of my sanity to this message board. i don't write often, but i'm here every day reading posts from everyone. this place has helped us through some of the hardest times i've ever been through... and for that, i think all of you guys for coming here and sharing your experiences.

for anyone currently in the depths of what i call "the survival months" (aka the first three months)... it really really really does get better and easier. this will be the hardest and most wonderful thing you'll ever have the luck to go through. just take it one hour at a time, and FIND A WAY TO GET SOME SLEEP. this is the only thing you NEED. one day, the silence in the house will be broken by the high pitched giggling/babbling of two little babies in their crib.... and every tear will have been worth it.

Great photos! I'm jealous of the warm weather! I'm in New England and still waiting for the temperature to be above 50! I found month 4-5 to be a big one in terms of development! I know there is so much that is going to happen in the later months-but for me I thought months 4-5 were the big months when they really start to blossom and interact, etc. ENJOY!

Michelle, your girls are absolutely adorable!! Mine are the same age and I was just thinking today how much better it has gotten. I loved your post and really identified with it.

I cried when I read your post ~ my 'journey' with my girls has gotten to the point now where I actually have FUN every day (for the most part) and laugh & smile finally! I was a total wreck & so depressed the first 5 weeks. Now they are doing so many new things & we are all getting 8 hours of sleep - YAY!

Your girls are beautiful---good for you for getting to 4 months and surviving. BTW...Your pictures look so warm. I'm in MA and right now it's snowing! brrrr
