4 months old and still pumping....!

Well my little ones still wont nurse and I am still trying but I can proudly say that I am still pumping after 4 months with a goal do keep it up for 1 year! I think I can, I think I can!!!!
And when people ask if I breastfeed...I proudly say YES!

I'm right there with you, pumping away. I was lucky to be able to BF the first 3.5 months...but every day when I latch them on, I end up with blood blisters that turn to sores that turn to scabs with blanched nipples..so the pump and I are becoming quite the pair. Ha ha.

You DO breastfeed, so you should definitely answer YES!

yay! congrats! you can do it for a year! that's what my goal is, as well, so we'll cheer each other on!

thank you for posting this... i'm pumping now 5 weeks and i feel like it's been FOREVER... my first goal is 3 months..

it makes me feel good to know that it is possible to pump for longer and that other people have done it... i would love to give breastmilk for a year but the prospect of pumping for that long is so overwhelming to me...


and I have wondered how to answer the question to people are you BFing, thanks for saying yes..

hey, me too! mine won't get a meal from me, either, so i'm pumping, as well... 5 times/day. they're getting a little formula daily now, cuz my frozen's almost run out. but i'm still completely committed!!

oops, i meant a WHOLE meal. they are nursing, but just not getting a whole lot (one has a short palate and the other has resp issues). do yours have any particular reason why they're not nursing from you? also, mine were in the nicu for 7 and 11 weeks, which didn't help!

 

Yay for 4 months!! Set small goals and you can do it. That's what I did and I've been at it 11 months.
