We had our four month check up on Wednesday. The boys are doing great. They hit their milestones and then some. They are rolling, grabbing for things and following objects. Jackson is in the 25 percentile on all aspects of growth while Lucas is in the 10th. Lucas’s head is only in the 5th percentile. I am not sure if this is a problem. We were given a green light to start solids. I am not sure that I am ready to start solids. I did not get good direction from my ped on how to start or what foods to tackle first. His only comments to me where avoid honey the first year and that includes honey nut cheerios. My guys do not even have teeth yet. Why would I be giving them Cherries? Anyway I think I will see another doc in the practice when I am ready to start them on solids.

    Jackson
    2months – 9lbs 13oz 22.5in
    4months – 13lbs4oz 24.5in

    Lucas
    2months – 9lbs 0oz 21.5in
    4months – 12lbs 8oz 24 3/4in

Glad they are doing so well :) We were given the given the green light for solids too. We are starting cereal tomorrow...Want their daddy home for the first time, don't want him missing out. Let us know what you decide and how it goes the first time :)

Maura, :yahoo: The boys sound like they are doing great!
As far as the solids go, if you don't feel your two are ready to start or don't seem interested in starting, it's okay to wait. They are only four months old, and solids are only for practice, so they have plenty of time for that.
And you definately shouldn't be worried about Lucas' head size. His noggin is just small. There is only concern if there is a huge percentage difference from one check up to another. :good:

Sounds like a great appointment. I would not worry about the solids. They are still very young. I didn't start with my girls till they were 6 months and that was only one meal a day. I started with some rice cereal and then moved on to vegetables and fruits. I think I fnally introduced their second meal at 8 months and their third meal at 10 months. We just took our time and worked our way into it. I also didn't start giving them cherioos and puffs till they were about 10 months. You will be surprised what they can chew with their little gums and no teeth, but that is when they get older and realize they can chew.

Congrats on a great appointment! Sounds like your little ones are doing great!

ETA: We didn't start our girls on cereal until about five months, even after getting the go ahead from the doc at their fourth month appointment. We waited until we were all ready. GL!

Congrats! We were given the green light on solids, but told that it was mostly for practice, so not to be too stressed about getting them to do solids everyday at first. Enjoy the mess of food!!
