Well the boys had their 4 month check up yesterday...

Wyatt was born at 2 pounds, 10 ounces..... 15 inches long
Wyatt is NOW 9 pounds, 3 ounces...... 21.5 inches long

Riley was born at 2 pounds, 15 ounces.... 15 inches long
Riley is NOW 9 pounds, 11 ounces...... 22 inches long

They are my growing little boys!!!

Also got their prevacid changed to solutabs
Their pediatrician said they do quite a bit of things a 4 month old would do despite being 11 weeks early, but they still don't do a lot.

She also gave me the go ahead to try starting them on solids in about a month. That seems crazy to me since their adjusted age right now is only about 6 weeks so in a month it'll only be about 2.5 months!

And I thought I'd share our "Christmas" pictures we used on our Christmas cards!

    I hope those links work!

Those pics are great!! Congrats on growing those babies! So glad you got the solutabs! My boys didn't start solids until 7 months, so don't feel like you have to rush into it. :woohoo:

I loved the pictures!! And at birth your boys weighed almost exactly the same as our boys did. Ain't it amazing to think how far they've come??

At our 4 month checkup our ped told us we could start solids then, which also surprised us. So we started them out then at 4 months of age (about 1.5 months adjusted), veeeery slowly. There were/are days where we don't always work in solids, and when that happens I don't feel guilty because they are already "ahead of the curve" considering how early they started. When we first gave them oatmeal I think they only managed to ingest about 1 tsp each, the rest they wore, LOL. It took a good 2 or 3 weeks for it to seem like they were actually making progress and swallowing semi-consistently (and only small amounts). Now they each eat 1 tablespoon of oatmeal mixed with formula and a fruit (combines to make about 2-2.5 tablespoons) around lunch time, and if we're able to work it in we give them a veggie in the evenings (they split a 2.5 oz jar and love carrots, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash). Solids can be very frustrating, but also very fun, like when they smile at you and squish out orange pureed food :D

Congrats on your boys' weight gain!

Very cute! I agree that I wouldn't rush the solids unless they seem ready. Mine were 37 weekers and I still didn't start solids until 5 months...and even now my DS does really well but DD is less than interested. They get more nutrition and calories per oz from formula or BM so unless they are hungry even with bottles or really looking interested in your food I would wait until closer to 4 months corrected...that way they will get rid of that tongue thrust reflex and learn how to open for the spoon and turn away when they are done.
