The daily routine goes well when they both sleep until 6:30 - then nap at 9 , etc.etc..
but it seems like lately one or the other is up at 5 or even earlier..

what do you do when they share the same room? if only one wakes up?(after checking diappers, not hungry..etc just awake)

dd is easier...if I put her in bed with me so that she won't wake up my ds she talks a little and goes to sleep ...easy going

ds is more of a problem... I cannot bring him to bed because he is crawling and is all over the place

if I leave him on his crib he cries and wakes up his sister

I tried rocking him...but that only works sometimes...

the bad thing is...he can stay awake until 7 am when I feed him (he will not eat before) and then
of course goes to sleep because he is tired...and that just changes the entire routine and
I have them on opposite sleep schedule with a tired mommy...

I went through this for MONTHS! It sucked!

What time are they going to bed? My girls sleep later when they go to bed earlier, even 15mins can make all the difference in the world here!

We went through this, too. Unfortunately, we ended up with babies on two different schedules. One napping by 7:00 or 7:30 while the other, later waker, wasn't napping until 8:30. It drove me nuts!

But, it does end eventually. And now, when one of them wakes up too early - they still have the stamina to stay up until regular naptime. Now, if they both wake up too early - I put them both down for an earlier nap.

We went through it too. What I did was set an alarm for 5:30. I did not go in there before 5:30. At 5:30 I got them up and fed them. They always went back down at 7 am, exhausted. They did this until they were about 12 months old.

I've had 5:30 wakers since the beginning! Around 12 months they started sleeping in till 6. We're still there now. Luckily both mine were up and would take a nap at 8 then again at 10 with 2 afternoon naps. As they went down to 3 naps I was able to keep them up till 9 (by doing it in 15 mins increments a day) and they were able to sleep 2 hrs then with 2 afternoon naps. Hang in there! It will get better! I think b/c your son is mobile, he is excited to test out his new skills. Can you put them in separate rooms at night for a week or two?

I've never had super early wakers, at least for very long, they went through occasional periods where they would get up early but it never lasted long, so I don't have tons of advice for you. You might try changing their bedtime by half an hour or so & see if it makes a difference. Other than that, hang in there, I'm sure it will get better!

I had that problem after I did CIO, and they slept through the night. Everytime the STTN they woke early--4:30-5. When they did that I fed them, and put them back to sleep. Then, they started having one night waking again, which to me was better then waking at 5AM.

However, on some days they just weren't having it and would be up for the day.

You could try messing around with their bed time. We've really been trying to get our boys waking later, and an 8PM bed time has helped us get them to 6:30 and sometimes 7, and they haven't woke during the night lately. However, I've heard others say an early bedtime worked.
