No trampoline or bouncy house antics, this poll is about jumping on regular surfaces... and when I ask about jumping down off of objects or up onto objects, I mean with both feet together.

I would say mine can do all.

Mine do all of that. Whit has been doing most of it for a while but he's huge for his age and pretty coordinated. When we tested him for EI, the therapists were quite impressed with his skills. They actually stated that they weren't expecting him to be able to do most of what he was doing. Based on the stories you tell about your two, I expect them to be swinging and flipping off of everything.

This is one of those things where someone I know is worried because their kid isn't doing things that mine are and I told her that I think her kid is the normal one but maybe not by these numbers.

Hmmmm...is there a milestone list for jumping? I know that What to Expect during the Toddler Years list out the milestones by should be, may be, advanced and I think some of them had to do with jumping. Maybe they can check that out. I am at work otherwise I would check the book myself. Personally, some of the stuff that Whit was doing, I certainly didn't expect and still don't. I attribute most to just his size and coordination.

At 3yo, I had one great jumper and one not-so-great jumper. Ben could probably do most or all of the ones you listed, but Adam was not that great at jumping on his third birthday. Over the next year, his motor skills improved enough that he could probably do everything by his fourth birthday. He wasn't delayed or anything, he just had a floppier build than his brother.

I have one very athletic 3 year old who is a great jumper and one who is way behind on her jumping and running skills.

We had K evaluated by early intervention because we were worried about her problems with running and jumping when she was about 2.5 years old (about 6 months ago). Sure enough she is considered to have significant delays with her gross motor development. She is now receiving physical therapy from out school district. We've seen a lot of improvement over the last couple of months and hopefully the therapy will help her catch up with her identical twin.

If you're worried, talk with your doctor or look into having your child/children evaluated.

my dd is delayed with her gross motor skill so she can not yet jump with feet together, it's more with staggered feet. She is in EI for gross motor skills.
    But she's getting better.
Ds on the other hand, well, I think he is about to try out for the olympics. He jumps really well. too well.

Yes, there is a milestone for jumping but I don't know it offhand.

My DS can do all except hopping on 1 foot. He's been jumping really well for a while.

My 3 y.o DD is not very coordinated. Shes never really been the active type. Sometimes she tries to do things her older brother does, and shes not quite as good. I think I selected 3 or 4 of the things in the poll.

Ours can do all of those things, a little too well for my liking.
