3rd Year Check-up

My sweet girls had their 3 year old check-up today. Marissa told the pedi "I'm going to be a surgeon & make babies well" & Isabella asked him "Is that your otoscope?" when he was looking in her ears. They are so smart & beautiful - they were absolutely delightful the entire visit. Marissa is still not on the growth chart but her growth is steady - she is 35" & 26 pounds at 3 years 1 week. Isabella is right below the 25th percentile at 36" & 29 pounds. Marissa's heart murmur is still audible & she will have another cardiac echo next year. Everyone is sure it is benign but dh is insistent that it is followed closely. They both got their HepA vaccine - neither one of them cried. They marched through the building telling everyone "we are going to Daddy's Treasure Chest" - we took them to dh's office to get a treat out of his treasure chest & to let his staff get a look at them. It was a wonderful visit - the girls kept talking about how much fun it was in the car on the way home. What marvelous little girls I have!

 

Sounds like a great appointment. Don't you love it when they make you proud? :blush:

 

Sorry to hijack your post, Nikki but I have a couple of questions: Does Marissa have a flow murmur? Or is it another type? My son has a flow murmur that the doctor has heard since birth but couldn't detect it at their 2-year appt. He did say that they sometimes grow out of it. I'm just curious what Marissa has. Also, did your DH insist on the Hep A vaccine? I know it isn't required where I live and so it's only done by request. I'm a little torn on it and I'm currently researching it for my kids.

Congrats on a great appt. At this young age they can go either way, especially with two!
