The boys will turn 3 October 18th. I know. I'm still trying to get over the fact that they are almost three... I digress...

I had originally thought to do a pumpkin theme party: pumpkin bowling, pumpkin decorating, pin the _______ on the pumpkin, pumpkin cake/cupcakes, pumpkin sugar cookie favors... you get the idea.

However, the boys experienced their first movie. Toy Story 3. It's all the breathe these days. I admit-it's cute. DH got them the 7 piece playset that includes Woody, Buzz, Jesse, an Alien, BullsEye, Ham, and Rex. They do not leave the house without them! They go EVERYWHERE with us-and they switch up who has who. They mostly stay in the car though, because I don't want them to lose them. And they sleep with them-every.single.day.

So-is it weird to do a Toy Story themed party with pumpkin stuff as activities?? Do I give this way more thought than I have to? LOL! I'm thinking no more than 5 or 6 kids total...

I really like the pumpkin theme & it sounds like you had tons of ideas for food & activities, I would probably go with that. But you could always throw in some Toy Story decorations or get them something Toy Story as a present.

Yeah I was debating the Toy Story invites, decorations, plates. And if I did that, it would add to the budget. Lord knows themes aren't cheap! Is that weird though? Toy Story stuff surrounded by pumpkins?!?

They are three. What do they care?!?! LOL!

Isn't that the truth? We definitely care more than they do! If I were you, I would skip the Toy Story invites (the boys aren't going to be the ones getting those anyway, you know?) & maybe just go with orange decorations or whatever you were going to use for the pumpkin theme, then just throw in Toy Story plates. They will like eating off of them & they won't break the budget.

My bet is that they will still like Toy Story next year and will want all that stuff (and be vocal about it). I say go with the pumpkin theme. I read somewhere (probably on here) that you can always add to the invite "Jake is really into dinosaurs this year and Ryan loves trains" or such. You can put on there that the boys love Toy Story (if you are willing to have that much T.S. stuff in your house! :)

I'd probably go with the Toy Story theme for the cake and plates, etc. You can still do Halloween/pumpkin themed games, etc. I did a Toy Story cake for the boys last year. I did Woody's bedroom with the bed and all the toys in the room. They loved it.

I would do the same :good: I was thinking about my two's third b-day party and just thinking about what they love now (Ki-Lan, Super Why, Toy Story, Fresh Beat Band)...it can be overwhelming! But I really do think, in the long run, the kids aren't old enough to really be concerned about their party theme, so I think mixing it up pumpkins and Toy Story, should be good. Good luck with planning!
