3rd birthday is coming!

Hi!

I'm mom to twins, a boy and a girl, who are almost 3 years old.

I'm completly lost and hoping for your help with what to buy them for their birthday.

Could you tell me what your boys and girls REALLY REALLY like or liked at 3 years of age?

Thomas the Tank Engine!!! Thomas, Thomas and more Thomas. Thomas sheets, Thomas books, Thomas videos, Thomas toys---
They liked the really large train tables they had in restaurants. I found that the tracks for A LOT of wooden trains (Brio, Target Cool Toyz, etc) fit together and all fit with Thomas trains. So I spent most of my time on getting the real thing when I got the engines, and getting the train sets and bridges, etc, at other places.
Oh - and they also kind of liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But very indirectly, and mostly because their big brother had some. They didn't really "get" any of the stories.
That's mostly for boys, but during playdates, I found that boys and girls sort of overlap on toys they like at that age.

 

We're coming up on three this summer and I already know that I am buying them the Fisher Price digital cameras. I'll also get them some new puzzles, craft supplies, etc. But I'm totally excited about the cameras! They are going to love them!

ETA: Another suggestion. Original Colorforms. I got a set for my girls for Easter and they are definitely their #1 favorite toy of the moment. And I brought them down to a family gathering recently and about six kids from 2-12 were playing with them together. Great for creativity.
