3D/4D ultrasound when should i go ?

I am thinking of going to a 3d or 4d ultrasound to see the babies but i have heard that it is very hard to get the pictures, is it true? please let me know and what week to go at i am currently in my 24th week

 

I would suggest doing it sooner than later ~ I believe that 22-28 weeks is the 'prime' time to get them done because at that point the babies still have room to move around & you will get a clearer picture

 

I noticed that our 4D ultrasounds became harder to get good images of the babies by 31/32 weeks. Our OB typically sets up this kind of session for singletons between 26 and 30 weeks.

I agree with Tamara. If you wait any longer than 28 weeks its hard for them to get good pictures because they are so squished in there.

 

We went at 24 weeks (last week) and we were unable to get decent pics of either baby at that time. Baby A was facing my back and baby B had his hands over his face. They let us come back the following week free of charge and we were able to get some great pics of Baby B but baby A still was facing away. They told us that between 24-26 weeks was ideal for twins and the longer you wait the harder it is to get good pics of both. I guess it is pretty normal to not be able to get both babies though. The babies were well formed though and looked surprisingly like babies-I was thinking that they would be more alien-like at 24-25 weeks. Have fun and drink a ton of water in the previous days. I also drank a sode about 45 minutes before I went to make sure that they would be active and not sleeping.

 

I am new to the site, but I saw your posting and thought I would reply. I work at an outpatient imaging center and have access to US any time I want and the tech here suggests that we look again at 28 weeks. We tried on Monday, but the pictures didn't come out very well and I am a little over 24 weeks.
