I am getting a 3D/4D U/S at 17 weeks I know it is early but it is free and beggars can’t be choosers I guess :D

What should I expect to see? Has anyone had one done this early?

    Thanks!

Sorry Shelley, I don't have the answer to your question, but I wish I would have done it just to have the memory. When you get them done be sure to share with your TS friends! :D

I had my first one at 20 weeks as that was what was recommended and it was awesome.

At 17 weeks the babies will be very skinny and kind of alien looking. The cool thing though is they should be able to see gender as well as them interacting. It is very cool.

I got amazing shots of mine at 20 and although they were skinny, the pics look just like them. I had it done again at 28 and you couldnt tell which arm belonged to which baby and such! It was not nearly as cool!

[SIZE=14pt]My doc does 4D at the office. Haven't gotten billed for it yet, just assumed it was free, better be. He likes to play around with it and we did it at about 14 weeks. You could see the outline and could tell they were little babies but still developing.
Good luck, it's a trip, I could sit all day and watch them move about on the u/s.

Yay!!! I had mine about 28 weeks and they were so squished that we couldn't see much but there is just something about seeing your unborn child - to me finding out you are pregnant, the birth and every ultrasound are the most awesome things. I used to get goosebumps at our ultrasounds!

I had one at 20 weeks (b/c my OB only does an u/s at 9 weeks for a singleton and non-high risk pregnancy). I was dying to find out what we were having and it was killing me to know I wasn't going to be getting anymore u/s. So, we paid to go to one of those places that does 3D/4D and it was well worth it!!!

Here are the pics we got at 20 weeks. My placenta was in the way a lot (based on where she was laying), but you can make out most of the picture! I bet it would be awesome with twins! I think, if it's free, go for it!!! But, if I had to do it again, I wold've waited probably until close to 26-28 weeks for some better shots. THe babies, at 17 weeks, will like pp said, be very skinny looking and look alien (lots of boney features and not fat on them like at a later stage).

My peri would do a 3D ultrasound at every visit for free. Maybe you could ask?? We didn't have any good ones with the twins. My 2 year old had a picture that looked exactly like he did at birth. That one was somewhere around 6 months pregnant. I couldn't tell you for sure which week.
