3d/4d best time to go

I know this has been posted "multiple" (pun intended) times before. I searched to find the thread, but nothiing came up... can someone link me to the thread that advises on the best time to schedule the 3/d/4d. I remember 28 weeks for some reason...

 

I don't know about the thread- I didn't do the 3d/4d ultrasound- but I was told if I was going to do it 27-28 weeks is best!!! They do give some really neat pictures though! I did have one 4d pic done, and it was just so neat- I could see her legs, arms, head, face and cord. I believe it is in my signature too!

 

i emailed baby UC and he said 20 wks for a gender scan and 24+27wks for a full fat picture before they get to squished

 

I went and got mine at 25 weeks. I was told by them that after 28 weeks they are too cramped in there to see anything. We actually had a real hard time seeing my little girl as it was (but got plenty of pics of the boy).

 

If I remember correctly I had mine done at around 27 weeks and I got some wonderful pictures. I think if I would have waited any longer, they would have been way too squished.

I think I remember hearing around 25 weeks too.

 

The place I went did a full hour at 24 weeks for me and then had me come back for face shots once they were chubbier at 30 weeks

 

I had a bunch of them (they were standard at the ultrasound place my doc had me going to) and the best picture I got was at 24wks. After that the girls were either uncooperative or too squished to get a good picture.

Thank you so much for posting this - we are scheduled for a 4D u/s at 26 weeks - I AM SOOOO EXCITED!! We are hoping to find out the sex of the babies. My doc (in canada) would not report the sex until 24 weeks. The weeks have just been dragging by and now it's still almost a month away but at least I have a date now!

We were told 28-30 weeks with a singleton, as they have put on some fat by then and you can more easily identify facial features (nose like daddy, chin like grandma etc), but 23-25 weeks for twins, as after that, you run out of space for good pics. The little photo in my signature was taken at 23 weeks 6 days.
