So, here I am, 38 weeks pregnant today!! I'm very thankful and blessed that I have been able to keep them in this long. This pregnancy has been great, with no problems what so ever! But at the same time, it's hard not to start getting a bit frustrated and a little depressed that they aren't here yet! I feel like we have been ready for soooo long!!

My doctor doesn't plan to induce until I'm 40 weeks. I'm sort of glad about that because I'd rather go into labor on my own, but at the same time it worries me a bit too. Almost everything I read says mono/di twins shouldn't go past 38 weeks, so it just worries me that the placenta might not be able to sustain them both much longer. He isn't even doing an NSTs or U/S either. He stopped the u/s at 36 weeks and the only times I've had a NST is when I have felt decreased movement, and one time when one of the babies HRs was high in the office. I'm fine with going to 40 weeks if that will give me the chance of a natural labor, but at the same time I'm worried about their well-being.

Just needed to vent a little!

    Thanks!

Yea for making it so far! It's funny how dfferent doctors practise different things. My boys were mono/di and my ob wouldnt let me go past 38 weeks.

You could always look into natural induction methods. Go for a nice long walk, eat spicy foods, if you can manage it with DH having sex is supposed to bring on labor. I am also surprised that your doctor is waiting so long, mine said 37-38 weeks and mine are di-di but I think it's because of my height and my ulcerative colitis.

My OB was a 37-week-for-mono-di-twins-guy, but I convinced him to let me keep mine cooking for a few additional days to have a September 1st birthday. It did turn out that the placenta had begun to breakdown quite a bit ... I would maybe push for some NSTs - or something - I say that, but mine never showed any distress in NSTs or ultrasounds. Both boys are happy and healthy today, though!

Great job making it to 38 weeks - that is quite a feat!
