So. I'm 38 weeks and my cervix is solid as can be. I'm SOOOOOOO uncomfortable- MUCH more so than w/ the twins. I've been borderline hyper-emetic- still taking meds even now since 4 weeks! I'm HUGE and EVERYTHING hurts. He is sunny side up so I'm having SERIOUS backpain already... on and on.

Anyway, I want him OUT! He's already over 8 lbs, I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead.. You name it.

I never went into labor w/ the twins so I don't know anything about it.

How long did you guys go w/ your single after twins ESP if you had planned cesarean? thanks!

I can relate and I have 3 weeks to go. My singleton pregnancies have been worse than my twin pregnancy. I had a planned section at 38w6 days with my last baby and this one will come out at 38w2days. It was bumped up 3 days which I am so happy about. I have gestational diabetes so I have had enough. This is my last pregnancy so I am trying to enjoy it, but I am getting sooo uncomfortable! Are you having a c-section or are you doing a vbac?

With the pregnancy after the twins, I went to exactly 40 weeks. I attempted a VBAC, made it to 9cm, but she was much bigger than predicted and I ended up with a repeat c-section. The only cool thing about what happened, is I felt that going into labor on my own with all the labor hormones, made for a much better c-section.

oMG! My c is scheduled for 39 w 4 d. PRAY! But, did you guys go into labor w/ your twins??? Cuz i feel like since I've never been in labor, it's going to hold me back.

OH and Pam.. my kid will be ENORMOUS, too. Should I just c section??!!!

I'm planning on VBAC if it's before scheduled c.

I went in to spontaneous labor with my twins but never with baby # 3. Even after they induced me it took just as long to birth him as it had taken me the first time. He didn't want to come out!

My twins were early but I did go into labor on my own (34wks). With Hannah I also went into labor on my own and she was born 39w6d:)

This is what I fear. I had my c/s with the twins at 39 weeks and no signs of labor so I'm feeling like this time with one baby I won't go into labor. I'm hoping I do and I hope you do too!!!

Good to see I'm not the only one with these fears! My twins were born at 37w 3d by C/S for breech with no contractions or budging of my cervix. They were only delivered that early bc of discordant growth. This time I am considering VBAC as well and fear that I will be miserable. I'm only 33w but already feeling huge and uncomfortable. Lucky enough to not be pukey like you but hobbling around with hip pain and sciatica. My hubby just said today that he thought I was worse off this time than with the twins! Funny how that works. I'll be interested to see how it goes for you ladies since I'm a month or so away from the same.

I did not have any c/s but I didn't go into labor with the twins or DD. I was induced with both. But I was "past dates". She was 40w5d. Sam was 40w3d natural labor and delivery...and my easiest one.

Oh ya. Just started using Evening Primrose Oil, hoping that works on my cervix! I'm willing to do anything!!! And YES. WAYYY more miserable this time! For sure!

Aimee- did you deliver all 3 vaginally?

You know Meredith, I wouldn't change anything. I'm glad I attempted the VBAC, at least I did everything I could to have a natural birth. I'll be attempting a VBA2C this time.

PINEAPPLE (not in can) the real thing worked to start labor in two of my pregnancies.

I didn't go on my own with Lennox. I was induced as I caught Fifth Disease from my twins and my OB knew I was worried about him being anemic. So I was able to have him at 39 weeks 2 days. Any way I was barely a half cm and had no effacement. He was my 5th. Thought I'd have him early.

    BTW Lennox is 2 today!

I had a planned c-section with my twins at about 38 weeks. Evan was VBAC at 40+1. I went to labor the morning of my due date and 36 hours later gave birth. Good luck! Pitocin was used toward the end to get me going. My contrations stuck at 11 minutes between. I was at 1cm dialation for a few weeks before birth though. That can change very fast though. Good luck!

I think ALL babies come out when THEY are *ready*. Dates aren't always accurate and some babies need to bake longer than others. I was induced with my twins at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure & the fact that I was a lot less educated then. My 3rd baby I had at 41w & 1d. She was a big healthy baby, we had a quick labor and went home the same day!
There are many advantages to letting them stay in there as long as *they* want to...

Yes. I will admit that labor from induction was a whole lot worse than when I went in to labor on my own. If I ever did it a third time (which I won't) I wouldn't get induced!

I second that. I was induced with the twins (which were delivered vaginally) and went naturally with the 3rd. Totally different experiences. I'd never get induced or use pain meds again!

Well, I cannot be induced so that's a non issue since I'm VBAC. E&M as wonderful as that sounds, I don't have that option.. IF I could wait it out and THEN have him vaginally that would be great. But I can't. I'm in a pickle here being a VBAC person so that's why I'm curious.

I think everyone knows (or has at least heard) about letting them take their time etc. :)

Baby is over 9 lbs now and I'm 39 weeks today. I have that pelvic separation thing now. LOL. Who would've thunk a singleton would be HARDER??

Anyway, c section Weds. I've accepted it as my fate. I just pray it goes better than the last one!

You've still got some time! Either way, your little one's going to be here soon. I wanted to share this video with you on a c-birth technique they're using in the UK that they're finding is leading to much more positive experiences for the families involved - maybe you could chat with your OB about incorporating some of these things into your c-birth?

Good luck tomorrow! I hope everything will go smoothly even if it does end up being a c-section.

I hope it goes smoothly tomorrow! I know EXACTLY how you feel. Although my first C/S was not twins, just a 10 lb 10 oz singleton. They would not let me deliver VBAC unless he came on his own. He was too big also, so they took him by c/s earlier than the first. I really wanted the VBAC too. Sometimes our bodies just don't cooperate. :( I hope your birth is perfect!

    Congratulations!!

On a side note, I was shocked that Evan was 10 lbs.. and then that they allowed me to VBAC him. Doctor said they did not get nervous unless the baby is over 12 lbs. :whew:
