Hi Ladies, I haven't posted in a while. Things are going well- I can't believe I made 37 weeks. I'm so happy , but I'm also soooo done with being pregnant. I'm ready to move to the next stage. Originally my doc told me if I made it to 37 weeks they would talk with me about inducing, but now I'm being told they will just let me keep going since I am doing so well-Thank God I'm doing well, but ughhhh. My last ultra sound (2 weeks ago)showed both my boys over 6 lbs - I have one tomorrow and we will see how they look. For those of you that made it this far - What were your doctors telling you, did you get induced, do many make it full term- I just never really thought that would happen. Oh, my boys are in their own sacs and they think their own placentas, but not sure, they think they may have fused early on. Thanks. :D

Hey there...I, too, thought I would never make it this far. My doctor said from the very beginning that she wouldn't let me go past 38 weeks. And I was SURE that I would have these babies before 36 weeks!! I even went into my 36-week appointment, expecting to discuss induction dates. Instead, my doctor put me on bedrest to get my little girl to grow more and to ensure that I make it to 38 weeks. Well, here I am at 38 weeks...and no sign of true labor. My cervix was 90% effaced and dilated 2cm last week. Today's appointment SHOULD be my last...induction will hopefully happen early this week.

I have had a very uneventful (thank goodness!) pregnancy...but, I will warn you, that I have started swelling like crazy this past week. Just a heads-up :)

Thanks, I have noticed a little swelling in the last couple of days, but only on my right side  - It has been very humid here so that doesn't help. Good luck and cheers to uneventful twin pregnancies :D :D :D

at my 36 week appointment, my doctor talked to me about inducing at the beginning of 37 weeks. but i was HUGE! i seriously could barely walk or sit :D . he left the decision up to me. both girls were almost 6 pounds and looked good on all the ultrasounds, so he was comfortable inducing. my induction was scheduled for a week later. 2 days after the appointment when we scheduled the induction, my water broke and we had the girls. i was 36.5 weeks. the girls weighed 5lb 10oz and 5lb 11oz. so we did good. but if you aren't having any problems and aren't terribly uncomfortable (which is an understatement, i know), let the pregnancy ride. "term" for twins is 36 weeks, which is when most are born, but it isn't a black/white thing either. i think you will probably have them soon though. i haven't personally heard of too many pregnancies that go more than 37 weeks.

good luck and best wished for smooth delivery.

    Way to go Momma!
My doctor would not let me go past 38 weeks. I had a scheduled c-section at that time since baby A was breech. I truly think I could have gone longer, the babies had no urge to leave.
Good luck and can't wait to hear your birth story soon!

Congrats on 37 weeks!!!!!! YAHOOOOOO :)
My dr. wouldnt let me go past 38 weeks either ~ I had a scheduled c-section as well.
I am sure I could have gone a little bit longer though, the only thing is it was getting so hard to walk around (or wobble around....) :)
GOOD LUCK, your babies will be here very soon!!!!!!

My scheduled c/s was for 39w3d. My OB, and I am hearing this is a new policy (I am thinking state policy maybe) that they will not induce nor do a scheduled c/s until after 39wks gestation unless it is medically necessary. Now, if I would of went into labor after 36wks, they definetly would not of stopped it, and would of taken the girls. However, I had mine 36w5d due to Claire having poor bloodflow.

Leah, Congrats on making it to 37 weeks!

My doctor was ready to let me go as long as they stayed. I had to beg and plead to get a c/s scheduled for 39 weeks. We would have had a c/s anyway, but he wanted to wait until 40 weeks and by 38 weeks he let me set it up.

Good luck and hang on Momma, only a little more time left. :hug99: :hug99:

    Congratulations!

I delivered vaginally after being induced at 36 weeks 5 days. I was supposed to go one more week, but the boys were ready to come. My doctor said he wouldn't let me go past 38 weeks.

    Good luck to you!

    Congrats!!!

My doc said 38 weeks + was the minimum for induction since I didn't have any medical reasons. It was a Monday and worked out 38w2d. They already measured 6lbs range at 34 weeks ago and u/s were correct. They were both born close to 8lbs. Very easy pregnancy and delivery.

    Good luck!!!!

Congrats on making it to 37 weeks  My OB also scheduled for 38 weeks exactly. Since I have mono/di twins I was told by Dr. De Lia to contact him at 32 weeks to see what he recommmends though. I wish you the best of luck :icon_biggrin:

I delivered at 38w4d by scheduled c-section because they were both breech. My peri wouldn't have done it sooner unless medically necessary, and would have required amnios to make sure lungs were mature.

I had no signs of going into labor on my own.

Oh, and mine were mo/di, we were monitored at LEAST weekly and we struggled with TTTS the whole time, so I was on bedrest anyway. But, they were stable, so there was no medical reason to take them sooner. Turns out my smaller one had IUGR and stopped growing, but were otherwise healthy!

    YAY!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

My dr scheduled my c-section for 38 weeks 4 days. I had been checked about 2 weeks prior to that and was 1cm dialated - and 2 days before - they said I wasn't dialated at ALL!! I think my girls were very happy right where they were!!
I also started to swell that last week! and it was like someone was going to just fall out with every step I took or like I was going to break someone in half when I sat!!!

    it won't be long now!!!!!

i was in my 40th week, begging to be induced, she would have let me go at least another week but an ultrasound showed baby a's water was low. I delivered at 39w3 days, but at 40 weeks exactly according to my doctor's calendar (based on LMP)

    Hi,

I was so happy to make it to 37 weeks. I had a NST and internal done when I turned 37 weeks. We had scheduled a CS for 39 weeks. When I was checked at 37 weeks I wasn't even dilated more than maybe 1 centimeter. My dr was convinved that we would make it to 39 weeks. I went home and my water broke. It is a very unpredictable thing. I had a cs that night and had healthy happy babies. Good luck to you.

CONGRATULATIONS for making it this far. You're doing GREAT!
I was going to be induced at exactly 37 weeks because my Baby A was growing at a more rapid rate than Baby B and they were worried that Baby B would do better on the outside. But I ended up going into labor at 36 weeks 5 days. So I never made it.
I was practically begging from 35 weeks on to induce me, I was SO uncomfortable.

I went into labor the day after my due date--all 40 weeks! I was *SO* impatient at the end, but so glad I went that long in retrospect--I've had a 37 week baby, and I think 40 week babies are a lot easier to take care of--eat less often, learn to nurse faster, and sleep better. Congratulations on making it to 37 weeks, and hang in there! It will be over. Soon. Really! B)

I had a planned C at 38 weeks. Who knows when they would have come on their own?!? I considered pushing for 37 weeks b/c my daughter's growth had slowed down, but the several perinatologists and OBs I talked with all said that since she was still growing (at a slower rate, but growing) that 38 weeks was the safest bet. In retrospect I'm glad we waited til 38 weeks even though the last week was SOOOOOO difficult, because they were smaller than they had thought on ultrasound, and my little boy had a little trouble gagging on the fluid that was in his lungs. I'm just glad they had the extra week to mature. Oh, and they were GREAT feeders from the start. Hang in there!!!!!

Congrats on making it to 37 weeks. That is a huge milestone. My Drs would have induced me between 38 and 39 weeks but I never made it that far.

Hang in there - it's all worth it in the end.

I would have been scheduled for a 38 c-section(baby A was breech), but I was developing pre-e, and delivered at 37 weeks.

I delivered at 37+4 and went into labor naturally. I had been on modified bedrest just because I was so uncomfortable that I didn't feel like doing anything. I'm convinced I went into labor because I stood at the altar for my godson's baptism the night before. Maybe increase your activity to get labor started?
