I'm thirty-seven weeks and 3 days pregnant. I went into labor two days ago but my doc. stopped labor because he wants me to get to 38 weeks. I'm scheduled for a c-section on the 24th of July. But I feel like I'm going insane!!! I just want the babies out. The specialist said the babies are fine and would need no NICU time but I just can't seem to get my doc to move up the delievery date. I also just got a UTI and the meds are making me soooo sick, plus i'm so uncomfortable all the time. I just needed to vent my feelings out. I'm so happy to have made it this far but having to go another four days feeling the way I do makes me cry. I wish my water would break!!! Then he would have to deliver me!!!

    Sorry for the venting...

Must be so frustrating knowing your babies would be healthy if delivered now but your Doc is being stubborn about it. Well Done !!! is all I can say, 37 weeks + is no mean feat. Hang in there, even though it sux. I have a UTI as well and who needs the added stress/uncomfortability!!
Maybe you could cry and throw a tantrum lol - always makes me feel better.

oh man -- I'm so sorry... GREAT job on cooking your LO's for so long!!! My hat is off to you. I can't imagine how frustrustrating it was when he stopped labor...ugh!! I hope these next few days go by quickly (or maybe that you go into labor ASAP and its "unstopable" this time!!

:hug99: :hug99: to you!! I remember those days - the just SUCKED...plain and simple. I begged my doctor to get them out and HE said no...(men!!) I went to 37 weeks and 6 days before my water broke. I was in so much pain - I feel your pain. I do want to say that it truly is all worth it and try to be very proud of yourself for making it this long - your body is amazing that it is doing this for the babies!!!!

You will look back and be so happy that you carried them for so long...HANG IN THERE!!!!!! NOT MUCH LONGER!!!!!!!!!

I had to wait until 39 weeks - and with a female doctor who has kids - so I feel for you. The only complication they had was jaundice, so it was actually good that I carried them that long because they had less time under the lights (part of a day). It sucked being that big, and not being able to do anything, and mine came in August in a heat wave, but think about it this way - 4 days left versus the 37 + WEEKS you've already done. Hang in there!

You're almost there, hang in there!!! It will be worth it. The longer, the bigger, the better. There is no way any doctor can guarantee your babies won't need NICU time, although every additional day also at this stage (and especially with twins) will decrease your chances.

Hang in there. I know, everyone is telling you that. I know how miserable I was for the last two weeks. But, the longer they are in, the better chance of them not having any issues. A 37 week old baby (gestation) is still only 37 weeks... even though it's twins! My attitude while waiting that last week was that all I had to do was to relax and rest... when they were out it was going to be more work. Can't wait to read your birth story. I am surprised your doctor stopped labor though.

I am really surprised he stopped labor. My OB told me that they wouldn't stop it after 35 weeks, and we induced at 36 weeks. I have never heard of a doctor stopping labor at 37 weeks even with a singleton. The good news is that you only have a few more days. BTW, I do agree about the NICU time. My boys were born at 36 weeks, 6-2 and 6-10. My baby who was 6-10 spent a day and a half in the NICU.

I think I would have refused the meds to stop the labor!!! my goodness!! I can't believe your doctor would be that mean!! My c/s was at 37wks 5days and believe me every day after 36 weeks was like an eternity! Hang in there...

I am so sorry that you are going through this! Its ok to vent, especially in your situation. I can't believe your doctor is being so rigid about this. I hope these next few days go by quickly for you. Keep reminding yourself that at the end, you will have your babies!

I'm 2 days behind you & also have 4 days left to go (csection July 24th)! Each day seems like an eternity & I also wonder how I'll make it like this another 4 days, but it's so nice knowing the end is in sight, isn't it??? I think I hit the wall right around 36 weeks & have been BEGGING my boys to break my water, but they just won't ;)! My doc wouldn't stop labor after 34 weeks, so I can't believe yours did (I agree with a pp'r in that I would've REFUSED the meds! Although, all docs I've spoken to say that true labor cannot be stopped by ANY meds)!!!

Hearing 'hang in there' is hard, isn't it? Just know that you're not alone...I'm right there with ya (and there's someone else on here who was venting about similar things & was a day ahead of me, so she's with us too!). Just think of the wonderful birth stories we'll have next week!!!!

PS I had to see our 'on call' doc yesterday (mine's on vacation) for spotting & decreased fetal movement. When she heard I was scheduled for a csection on Tuesday, she was shocked that I was scheduled so early! She said she wouldn't have scheduled me until after 38-39 wks & I told her she was "MEAN"! My husband was floored that I actually said that, but I was soo uncomfortable that I couldn't believe someone would say to my face that they think Tuesday is too early :):):)!!!!

At 37 weeks, I wanted my dr to move up the csection date too! The following week did go by fast though! He said I wanted to keep them longer because the more weeks that the babies are, the better sleepers they are (not in my case!)! You are almost there!!! July 24th is an awesome day! That is my boys birthday! Good Luck!!!!!!

Hang in there, you're almost there! I'm sorry that the doc stopped your labor the other day. My doctor and I've had a long discussion about this. My cerclage is being pulled out between 36-37 wks, we're doing it first thing in the morning and if I don't start labor on my own by the end of the day we'll induce. My only hope is that I get that far :D
