I had my 37 week appointment today and all in all it went OK. My BP is still on the rise but Dr. isn't trying to treat it yet. She did draw my blood to check and see how my liver is functioning.

Dr. said my biophysical profile was good from last Friday so no NST was needed today. Dr doesn't seem to be concerned about the smaller head measurement from the growth scan I had last Wednesday, she figures it wasn't an accurate measurement but seems to think this baby is small and wonders why??? I measure 37 cm this week, the baby appears (and I feel it all the time) as being active and I have good fluid levels...so hopefully everything is going well with the baby and maybe it is just going to be small (if the ultrasound is correct on the size.) I go in for another BPP ultrasound end of the week and then again next week. If everything looks good with the BPP I will go to my c-section date of Sept. 4 and if not then she will deliver me earlier.

I think my Dr. let the gender of the baby slip today. She kept calling it a "her" and "she" when ever she referred to the baby never once calling it a "he" or an "it". I never did tell the Dr. that we were waiting for the surprise this time around so maybe she didn't realize and as she has been closely monitoring me lately and reviewing my ultrasounds she found out and let it slip today. I didn't question her about it as I am still wanting to have the surprise. As the gender has never come up during an appointment, I guess I didn't figure I needed to mention this to the Dr. and I have only discussed it with the sonographer. Funny thing...I have been suspecting it's a girl and had a dream last night that it was a girl and have had random strangers approach me and tell me they think I'm carrying a girl. If it turns out to be a boy than we will really be surprised!!

    Take care!

It sounds as though things are still going great for you. I am glad that they are keeping an eye on you BP and bloodwork, though!

Amber never did reveal herself at any of our U/S appts. In the OR, the anest. accidentally let the gender slip out before the Dr could give DH a chance to look over the curtain to announce the gender. We thought it was pretty funny. It is nice to have medical personnel who actually get excited about what they are involved in.

I didn't realize we were neck and neck!! I'm a few days ahead of you. I wanted to say don't bank on the gender because my OB called my twins "boys" for the longest time since she had boys. I had a boy and girl!

Your right! My little guy who really wants a baby brother is always referring to the baby as a "she" or "her." It might be more natural to do that? It will sure be a fun surprise and I am glad we made the decision to wait to find out the gender. The only time I wished I knew was while I was shopping in a nice baby boutique...so many cute gender specific things! I can't believe all the new baby items that are out now...in just four short years since my twins...all the baby stuff that I saved from the twins are like dinosaurs now. Good thing baby won't know the difference:) Baby did get some cool new items at the shower, so that is great!

I have another BPP ultrasound today and after that a meeting with the ansthesiologist. Then an OB appointment Friday to go over the BPP. Things are getting so busy around here!!!
