    Hi all,
I had my 36wk appt today. My midwife did the strep B culture and an internal check. My fundal ht is measuring 40wks  , he is still head down, the heartbeat was great, no weight gain for me in past 3wks. She said my cervix is "very soft and low but closed".

We had an u/s scheduled at 38wks but she wanted to get it sooner so it will be next week. She said I could be measuring big because he's big or because there's alot of fluid or because of his positioning. We'll know better next week.

So, that's it for us right now. Still praying for a VBAC!

It could just be extra fluid...my sister measured large for her first dd and she was born at 42 weeks at just 6lbs 4oz... I always measured a few weeks behind and mine was born at 40 weeks at 8lbs1oz! Go figure. Right now my belly is measuring 33wks and I'm almost 35 weeks... watch I'll have the 9lb baby and you will have the 6lb baby!! LOL! You can never tell!

Are they going to let you go past your due date if need be? I'm so glad my docs are..I just couldn't imagine wanting a vbac and also dealing with the pressure to go into labor by 40 weeks. I mean it's only a date, and half of women go past it...eeek... I'm really curious to find out if I'm dilated at all too... I have my internal next week. But do keep in mind that dilation is not a very good indicator of labor. I hung out at 2cm for 2.5 weeks with the twins with no signs of impending labor by my c/s. My sister was totally closed for her second dd, when she went into labor on her due date and had her in just 3 hours. So you just can't always use that as a good indicator. So don't let it discourage you if you are still closed at 39 weeks...
