I am being induced in 8 days and I have a couple of questions.

-Can anyone share their induction story?

-I've been feeling twin A playing with my cervix (hurts like crazy!) for a long time now, probably since about 28 weeks. However, I've been nesting like it's going out of style and I've been doing so much. And, last night I went to Target to get some things and I could feel A SO LOW..and it hurt extremely bad. I know they've dropped more, but I'm just wondering if it's normal to hurt this bad when she's doing this. I have an appt tomorrow and I plan on mentioning it, and I hope they check to see if I'm dilating more.

    Thanks for your answers!

I'm 32 wks and trying to hold on until 38 weeks. I just wanted to say congrats on making to 36 weeks. According to my childbirth class instructor there is no difference between being induced and going into labor naturally. I plan to try to walk the twins down if I don't go into labor by 38 weeks.

    Good luck!! :D

I am having that same pain and I am 36 weeks today. My friend said it also could be the pubic bone separating or widening preparing. Ick! Anyway, sorry no induction story but thanks for posting this - will be following the replies as I am curious myself. :)

I was induced with both my singletons, so it was slightly different being only one but the same idea. With Justin I was 35 weeks and due to extremely low amniotic fluid and him showing signs of distress, they sent me straight into L/D and hooked me up to pitocin. Pitocin contractions hurt way more than regular contractions, just to warn you. While a regular contraction is like a hill that goes up and down "nicely," pitocin contractions are like a spike that stays high and slowly drops. Because i was only 2cm and 60% effaced going into it, they kept upping the pitocin and it was about 10 hours before he popped up. They broke my water about halfway through.

With my 2nd, they had stopped my labor twice before week 34, so when she changed her mind after that and decided not to come i was induced at week 38 before my husband had to go back to the sandbox from leave. With her i was already almost 4cm and was 100% effaced going into it, so they broke my water, gave me very little pitocin and she was born within an hour and a half. I went from 5cm dilated to her arriving in less than 20 minutes, the dr didn't even make it back in time.

Each person has a different adventure in the land of birth whether through induction or natural labor. my suggestion if you are being induced is don't worry too much about "being strong" and not taking anything. Take what you need to get through it. With my first i got an epidural because it was taking so long and the pitocin made things so bad and i'm glad i did. I didnt have time to even think of pain let alone take anything with my 2nd. Hope that helps a little bit on the induction side of things. Good luck!
