    Hi ladies,

I just wanted to share about my Dr.s appt today. I don't usually post but I read the posts a few times a day. I am 36 weeks with boy twins. My whole pregnancy I have kind of felt like I was the last to know anything. I like my doctor as she has delivered two out of my three children. Well last week when I went to my appt and asked her how far she would let me go she told me to take it week by week. I expressed my concern that I thought that one of the babies was breech and she didn't seem concerned. My last u/s both were head down but then a few days later I noticed hiccups up at the top of my abdomen for baby b and that has not changed, there is no way he is head down. Well today was my visit again and she told me she would induce at 39 weeks if I don't go on my own. Maybe I'm wrong but that seems so late for twins. It is so hard for me to even walk around my house never mind taking care of my other 3 but I have no choice. Sometimes I just cry walking from my car into the hospital for my non-stress tests. I have so much pain and so much pressure. I guess I was shooting more for like 37 or 38 weeks 39 seems so long for a twin pregnancy. Maybe I am selfish

    Thanks,

    Kelly

    Kelly -

I personally don't know as I'm only 25 weeks but from what I've read, 39 weeks does seem like a long pregnancy for twins. I'm sure if your Dr. felt if keeping them in there longer put their health at risk, I'm sure he/she would have recommended to induce earlier. I feel all sorts of pain now at 25 weeks, I can't imagine how you are feeling. Hang in there and remember that maybe they will want to come earlier than 39 weeks.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I didn't realize this until I requested my records after K&K were born (and was asked to be an Expecting forum mod) but my peri wrote in my paperwork that we would discuss induction if I reached 39 weeks. I didn't, K&K came at 36 1/2 weeks.

Are you saying you would like a scheduled c-section because of the babies position? I am not understanding why you are concerned about the breech position, are you afraid of going into labor on your own due to the positioning?

Congrats on reaching 36 weeks, that is fantastic! Great job Momma!

My doctor does an u/s every time I see him. One of my twins has been breech my whole pg (except for about 2 wks). He told me he would induce/c-section at 38 1/2 weeks. However, he is going out of the country during my 38th week so I'm not scheduled for a c-section until 39 weeks 2 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do come earlier on their own because of how uncomfortable I am. Two weeks ago they were measuring 5 1/2 & 6 lbs. so I can only imagine how big they will be at my scheduled c-section.

Oh man, I can only imagine how anxious you are to deliver! Back in the day when my mom had my older twin brothers she went all the way to 40 weeks..and was never induced. All along her doctor told her twins come a month early...so she really felt like she was one whole month overdue. She said it was horrible! I don't think it's completely unheard of to make it to 39 weeks, but my ob said 38 weeks was the cut-off in her practice. Let's just hope you go sooner. It sounds like your body has had all it can handle! Please keep us updated!
