I'm so excited to have hit 35 weeks today!! I have an ultrasound tomorrow, mainly to check their position (hope they're still head down) and their weights, etc.

I keep on hitting mini-walls. Right now, it's not comfortable to lay down, stand up, sit, walk, or pretty much anything in between. My hips have started hurting a lot over these past few days. I jumped up to answer the phone today (okay, I know I should be doing everything slooooowwwly at this point), I started screaming in pain because of the change of position. And after about seven phone calls to straighten out some health insurance billing problems, I just started sobbing (thankfully, after I had hung up).

I'm trying to pretend that I'm not rapidly approaching The Wall. I've been watching a movie most afternoons. And also, I started keeping a countdown on my blog www.covblogs.com/timandjo to help me focus on what I've liked about being pregnant and what I'm looking forward to when I finally get to meet the kiddos (ohhh, look at the cute pictures of my DH holding babies, he's going to make such a cute dad!!! http://timandjo.covblogs.com/archives/023194.html ).

I was wondering what your coping strategies have been for getting through the last few weeks with as positive an attitude as possible. My OB doesn't think I'll go past 37 weeks, so I do have kind of an end in sight. I do want to keep them inside for as long as possible!!

:hug99: Those last 2 weeks started getting long for me, too. You are so almost there. That's a major thing to help get you through, think healthy babies, healthy babies. It's really worth it! You can do it! And feel free to whine to everyone here anytime you need to.

The muscle soreness from pregnancy reminds me of what it feels like the day after running a marathon. Its the only thing I've ever experienced that comes close to the preggo pain. And after a marathon, rest and time and gently using the muscles is the only thing you can do to get them feeling better again.

I suspect its the same with the preggo pain. Just take it easy, move slowly, and rest. Once those twinkies come out, you'll feel better.

    Hi Joanna,

Congratulations on 35 weeks! I was so excited to hit this milestone too :D .

Coping strategies - I've tried to keep myself busy - reading positive things on labor, budgeting for new babies (something to ease anxiety and feel organized), some weeks lots of baths when the aches are the worst, watching shows/movies that really interest me and suck me in, taking my mind off the pg. At the end of 33 weeks, I've had to start wearing my maternity belt 24/7 to reduce discomfort. However, some evenings the last three weeks I feel nauseated. I'll drink ginger tea for the nausea and may turn the lights down and keep the room quiet. It's a weird thing I've had going on for 3 weeks now - early labor stuff  . I have DH rub my shoulders and back too. I just keep thinking this will be short-lived and reminding myself that, like you, I want the babies to stay in as long as possible and continue to grow. It always helps to get out and get fresh air when things are getting to you ;) . Btw, you're doing great!

I'm right there with you. Cant move, eat, sit , sleep, lay, go to the toilet, drink or basically anything without some level of discomfort bordering on infuriating. As for coping strategies, I cant help you there, largely because I dont really think I am coping that well. lol. Is your belly impossibly sore? Mine is. Does it hurt when your twins move?

My Dr thinks I will probably have them before my induction date, but I dont believe him. I couldn't be that lucky.
And as for a positive attitude, nope, lol, none of that here either. I try. Doesn't last long.
I'm sure you will do great, and I'm going to keep chanting like the Little Engine that Could.
    'I think I can, I think I can.....'

I'm right there with ya girl...35 weeks today as well! YAY! CONGRATS!!

I feel your pain....TOTALLY. My body HURTS. The hip pain is the worst! I also can't believe how sore my body is after I get up in the morning, I believe from lack of excercise/movement. UGH. Oh, my ribs also feel like they are being crushed....not fun! Showers are difficult, hard to bend over to wash myself and dry off. I get exhausted from that!

I'm SO looking forward to being done. I sort of see the light at the end of the tunnel....sort of but it still seems like it's never going to get here. I try to pass the time by watching a lot of TV(get's boring), surfing the internet about twin stuff and I schedule my DR appointments on Wed so it sort of chops up the week. But basically I'm bored out of my mind and SO ready for my babies to arrive!

Oh thanks for this thread.... I've been so positive emotionally my entire preg, and now i'm in the toilet. I'm 34 weeks and not sure how much more I can endure. Each week I'd have a different symptom like my upper back from my ribs expanding, or my hip from my ligaments becoming loose, then the pubic bone sharp pain from my pubic bone softening (ouch that one really hurt) then my hands slightly puffy and feeling like arthritis in every joint, ....

now feet like Fred Flinstone, face puffy in the AM, and sore like a mild menstruation cramps in my ABD and back but not lasting too long.. My blood pressure is not too high. I just find now all the symptoms have merged to hit me all at once.

I've gained a few inches around my waist but it has only been this week that I finally feel "too big" "too uncomfortable" and i'm starting to get weepy from all the symptoms. I don't know how I will make another three weeks of this when I can't even walk a block now because of my huge feet and cankles (huge ankles).

congrats on 35 weeks!! my coping strategy is telling myself "the longer the better!" i believe that i got really discouraged because everyone kept saying that twins go early obviously not in my case and a LOT of the women on this site. THEY SAY most twins go early but it seems like most of the women on this sit go to 37 weeks and longer... i think its wonderful so just relax and the last few weeks are the longest. i would suggest not reading those pregnancy books anymore or doing anything that has to do with pregnancy! well for me the more i do that has something to do with babies the more restless i get i cant eat now i cant sleep im like a zombie i have a crook in my neck from staring at my stomache for hours on end!

i say have someone to wash your hair get a massage. go out if u feel up to it i went dancing saturday night! that was a big stress reliever for me and it got me away fromt he pregnancy for while of course until i was ambushed by strangers telling me how adorable my belly is. but i try to stay positive and show no interest in the oo's and ahh's and what are their names?? i just say i dont know thank you and ooo i like that song want to dance?

if you read read a book. i get more into my books than anything else! also video games, and almost anything in your social life try getting with some friends or family and tell them that you dont want to talk about babies today, they will be here soon enough and be stealing the spotlight anyway! so enjoy these last few weeks of your pregnancy! :drinks:

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone!! :D

Tementia, I can't believe you're still dancing at this point--you go! And reading is a great suggestion--I love to read, and actually can sometimes get more engaged in a book than in TV or a movie.

Yup, I feel enormous, too. And weepy. My poor DH, it doesn't take anything to set me off these days!

Not often, but every once in awhile they'll find a really sensitive spot and really jab it--yowch!!!!

All I can say is to think 39 weeks...think 39 weeks.... My ob never thought I'd go past 37 weeks either...and they had told me the c/s would be scheduled around 36 or 37 weeks.... The last week until my c/s was absolute mental/emotional torture... I had my c/s at 37wks 5 days...and it wasn't scheduled until 3 days prior!!!! aaaaackkkk.... Set your goal lonnnnggg....so that you don't drive yourself nuts if you go past 37 weeks by a few days!!
