35 Week Appt - Help - What Would You Do?

I went for my 35 week US, NST and OB Appt today. The US went well. The weights the Tech gave me seemed to me that my girls grew very little since last week. By the time I got down to my Dr.'s office she had not gotten the results, so she said if there was any concern she would keep in touch with me later today or tomorrow. The NST went well too.

This is the annoying part. To date my Dr. kept on telling me that by July 9th she wanted to do a C-Section. Until about three weeks ago there was no question as Baby A was head down and Baby B was Transverse and she also kept telling me since they are identical there was concern for TTTS and she felt more comfortable doing a C-Section. Then I went to her two weeks ago and Baby B was down as well. I thought that was great news and she kept telling me that she still felt a C-Section was the way to go, as she didnt want Baby B to flip after Baby A came out and then have to do a possible C-Section. Today, it was like we never had those conversations. She said that July 9th is still the day to either have the C-Section or for me to be induced. However, she said "why not try vaginal". I am a bit taken aback, as there is still a possibility that Baby B will turn and that TTTS could kick in. However, she seems fine with trying a vaginal. All along I wanted a vaginal and she put it into my head that I couldnt have one so emotionally I am ready for a C-Section and then now she is basically leaving it up to me. If all goes well the next week and a half I could either have a C-Section or Vaginial (or end up with both).

HELP - what would you do?

Sorry so long, but you guys are always amazing.

Oh I'd be the first in line to deliver vaginally!! I wouldn't give it a second thought! I Hope things work out for you!

Me personally, I'd try for vaginal in a heartbeat!

My doctor pretty much left it open ended the whole pregnancy, saying that we'd have to wait till closer to delivery time to see what position they're in. She also said that if at any point, if I knew I wanted a C-section, she's schedule it. I was pretty much on the fence the entire pregnancy, not really knowing what I wanted to do. I finally decided that if there was no medical reason to do a c-section (ie, both head down or twin A head down), that I'd go for it. Mine both stayed head down for the last 6 weeks, so we went ahead with a vaginal. I had no problems and an easy recovery.

Don't stress about it too much and listen to your gut! Although, as in my case, your gut is sometimes confused too! Ultimately, if there is a REAL need to do a c-section, your doctor will let you know.

    Good luck!

I'd try vaginally. And this comes from someone who delivered baby A vaginally and had a c-section for baby B. I still feel it was worthwhile, especially because I am not having any more children and I always wanted to experience a vaginal birth.

I'm not sure I understand why she wants to induce/section at 36ish weeks, though, as long as the babies are still doing well in there.

From the begining she told me that in her practice, which is a high risk practice in NYC, Normal pregnancy for Twins is 37 weeks. However if they are identical and there is a possility of TTTS 36 weeks is when they schedule a C-Section or induce. Mine is scheduled for 36 weeks and 4 days.
