Well, today marks week 34 for us! And almost thought that there would be more going on today than that!

I've had trouble with BH contractions for months now, but over the weekend, I had several episodes of 6 or more an hour. After that happened yesterday twice for two hours in a row each time, I called my OB, and she said from the way I described them it sounded like BH contractions, but I should go in to get monitored just in case. So, at 11 PM last night, we quickly finished packing our half-packed hospital bag, and headed to the hospital.

When I got there, I was having contractions every four minutes! But they checked my cervix, and nothing was changing. They kept me hooked up to the monitor for an hour and a half, and the contractions faded over time.

Turns out I have my first UTI, though (even though I don't have any symptoms--except for peeing all the time, which I would be doing anyway!), so on with the antibiotics, yogurt, and cranberry juice. They think that might have been irritating my already irritated uterus.

I have two very silly babies, though. :p They didn't like getting monitored. Our girl squirmed away the whole time (she always does this with the doppler, as you can see from some of my past posts), and actually got really mad at one point when the nurse came back in to push the monitor down on her--her heartbeats got really fast and she started pounding my cervix. Our boy didn't like his little heartbeat monitor or the contraction monitor, and tried (literally!) to kick them both off. We could see him pounding at the monitors through my belly! So, there were constantly warning signals on the monitor, and the nurse kept on having to come back to check on things.

One nurse asked--almost with awe in her voice--"are they like this all the time?" I responded, "Pretty much!" :D They do sleep sometimes, but other than that, they are two crazy little babies. They move around so much that people can watch my belly undulate from across the room! But at least they're quite healthy and active.

We finally got home at almost 3 this morning. I feel like all the pushing and probing and the cervical exam irritated things even more, and I barely slept at all after I got home, even though I was exhausted.

One part of me hoped that this was "it," but the rest of me is glad that they'll get baked a little longer before they come out.

:D Silly babies! But I can relate because both of mine are the same way! My baby boy really hates the monitors and kicks them. Baby girl (A) just tries to squirm off. Amazing how active they can be in there!

Glad all is well and they'll bake a little more!

My babies are the same way. I think it's cute that they try to kick off the monitors.

Yeah my lil girl likes to kick the monitors off too during those tests or she will evade the tests all together. My son will just lay back and let them check his heart rate. Just like you my belly undulates and moves and my daughter gets really pissy. One day I had to just get up and leave, she refused to stay still. A good indication she was just fine. LOL. I was up all last night and today with those darned BH contractions too. I actually feel pretty awful today. I am very tired and my uterus is tired too , lol. My normally active babies are being a little quiet today also. At least the nursery is done. YAY!!! but the rest of the house is a tornado, we had to vacate two rooms to make room for our stuff and the babies' stuff.

Wow--sounds like it's a common thing for them to not like to be monitored. I wonder what it is about the monitors that bothers them?!? It doesn't seem like the monitors could be that uncomfortable

Mine are really funny during the ultrasounds. The boy is hardly ever cooperative. The girl is slightly more cooperative than the boy. They are constantly active and doing somersaults and all kinds of things in there. The person doing the ultrasounds sais they are active and I just say "Yes I know lol".
