I'm 34 weeks along and I've been contracting and cramping at night. I saw my doctor on Thursday and my cervix was still measuring 1 centimeter same as the past few weeks. She told me to call if the cramps get worse. Is this a sign that I might go into labor soon? Plus I've had diarrhea for the last week, is that normal? I figured if it was a virus I'd be over it by now.

I don't think you ever know for sure. But it is pretty normal to contract and cramp weeks before even in your second trimester. I have been having really strong contractions the last few weeks and my doctor just did a fibroid test today, they will have results tomorrow to predict if I will go into labor w/ in the next 10-14 days. Have you talked to your Dr about that test? Good luck, Im kinda in limbo right now too wondering whats going on. Hopefully the test will tell me something.

I had the diarrhea(sorry tmi!) for 3 weeks before I had my babies. I think it's fairly common towards the end, but mention it to your doc. Are you drinking enough water? If it is crampy contractions, I would call, especially if there is any consistency to them. Better to be safe than sorry. :hug99:

I have been having frequent contractions for weeks now and menstrual like cramps for the last 3. I have been having some loose stools but nothing consistent. If you are concerned, I would recommend calling your OB. I mentioned the cramps to my OB (he's known about the contractions for weeks) and he said... "guess what, you're pregnant with twins". I haven't worried too much since then because I'm not dilated at all and I'm scheduled for a c-section in 4 days.

    Good luck!
