34 week appt

Ok, as you all know I have been contracting for a good while now. Today my dr decided to start me on Brethine to try to stop the contractions. Has anyone here ever been on it? This makes me very nervous.

Other than that my appt went well.

Iv'e heard of it, but not a lot. I thought Procardia and Terb were more common. Did they just put you on it? My dr (with the twins) took me off of all those meds at 34 weeks b/c most dr. won't stop labor at that point.

I've never heard of it, but I was on Terbutaline from 34-36 weeks with the twins.

By the time my pharmacy got the script last night, they were closing. They should have it ready this afternoon so I will be getting it after work.

 

Terbutaline is a generic form of Brethine. Many women take terbutaline/brethine for stopping contractions. I was on it every four hours from week 28 until I delivered at 37 weeks 2 days. Good luck!

 

Yes, it is terb. I am supposed to take it every 6 hours. I hope it helps.
